I am suprised that the possibility of an East Coast Longhoreman strike is not bigger news.
They have until September 30th to make a deal.
For every day they are on strike it delays unloading by a week.
As we go into the Holiday season.
What comes in through the top ports on the East Coast.
Through NY/NJ ports we receive:
Auto parts and accessories
Electronics and hardware
Pharmaceuticals and medical devices
Textiles and apparel
Food-grains, fruits and vegetables
Furniture
Baltimore:
Cars
Coal (why are we importing coal?)
Petroleum (why are we importing oil)
Asphalt
Fertilizer
Tractors (why aren't we building tractors?)

Georgia ports:
Oil and mineral fuels (again, why are we importing oil?)
