I know the front page article says Dravon Henry is the starter at FS, and it mentions the battle between he and JT (Jeremy Tyler) this past spring and last year...but this year at least in this Defense JT doesn't see himself as a backup. Coaches have told him he is going to play, and will see significant time at FS and possibly as a Spur. It will be strictly depending on certain situations. Coaches love his run support, and that's why they've been pushing Dravon so hard, because right now Jeremy is ahead of him in that capacity.
That is taking nothing away from Dravon who is obviously a gifted athlete, but what really is setting him apart from JT right now is his speed to the ball and natural instincts in coverage packages. At times JT can be a little slow reacting , and he doesn't have the pure acceleration to the ball that Dravon has, but he is a fierce competitor who doesn't make mistakes and that's what the Coaches desire on the field.
So expect to see plenty of JT as well as Dravon this year. Really it's a good problem to have. Look at them as 1 and 1A. JT would likely be starting if it was anyone else other than Dravon competing against him. We are stocked at free safety this year. Look for a big year out of both players.
