Re the rumors that Devin Williams is leaving after this year to play ball in Europe, here is Williams quoted in Pittsburgh Tribune on not being first team All Big 12: “I feel like I was a first -teamer,” Williams said. “I think I worked hard for it, and I can use that as an edge all summer."

Sounds to me like 1) He is coming back, and 2) He really needs to do a better job of evaluating himself.

Here's hoping that he works harder than ever in the off-season and start having realistic assessments of himself.

Devin's plan has been to leave after this season for nearly a year now........

If something is changing then so be it............. but we recruited Konate for a reason.

He's been backsliding the last several games by putting the ball on the floor. Go up Devin, go up.

Would love to have him complete his senior season. That's the important part. He is a huge asset to the team and has been key in winning countless games.

The biggest step forward that Devin can make is to learn to accurately do some self-diagnosis of his own game. I think he has suffered from an inflated view of his game and that's why he, apparently, if Keaton is to be believed, acted like his departure to Europe was a foregone conclusion. This, of course, is my opinion.

But I listened to the radio program that Greg Madia and Keenan Cummings did this week. They had a short interview with DW. It sounds like he may finally start taking some steps toward playing within himself and developing the skill set that he has to its utmost. I sure hope so for his sake and the team's.

He's starting to say the right things. Let's hope that he does the right things and maybe he becomes a lock for Euro-ball at the least next year.

So scaling back the presumption he was leaving, which is great "news" if pans out, what then does this mean for 2016-2017 Press Virginia?

We'll sorely miss Paige & Holton. So is the case every season.

But we'll have a lot of experienced weapons too and one hell of a team. Guess we'd be one over the limit, correct? Might another recruit prep?

Guards

I'm in for this group. Wow.

Devin has been shooting from the hip in recent games in the effort to draw a foul and at the same time avoid the blocked shot. DW gotta dunk the ball to have success. Dadgummit, he takes most of his shots from within 3 feet of the basket. DUNK THE BALL!

Devin & Holton together is an awesome double-barreled weapon. If both leave, it will take some doing to replace that defense, rebounding and putback power.

For now, let's concentrate on winning the Big 12 tournament and the wildest March Madness ever!!!

Huge if he stays. I guess Nate and the other recruit can ran the front of the press....Holton in that position is one of a kind.

If Williams wants to come back, there are ways the roster can be manipulated. Coaches know all of the maneuvers available to them.

Watkins seemed to have such a big upside just two years ago.

yes, he did. but he never developed any strength and he didnt get enough playing time to develop his skills, both probably due to injury. those are the breaks.

Offensively Devin really struggled the 2nd half of the season having some games where he was non existent. He easily gets frustrated and forces the issues which just makes his place worse.

Sounds like maybe he came to his senses about his talent level right now....or maybe whoever has been feeding him bad advice has. Good for him

this situation never had anything to do with either of the two "points" you suggest above...

Horse feathers.

First, you were caught off guard by the probable return of DW.
Now you act like you know what's been going on all the time.

Numerous reasonable people have previously 1) listened to Devin Williams talk about his game, and 2) then watched him play his game. Then they came to the conclusion, despite your persistent line that he was going to Europe, that his game needed more development and DW needed to be more in touch with his skill set and develop within that skill set. They did that without your alleged insider info.

You can pass yourself off as the ultimate insider, and I have no doubt that you know some people, but your level of common sense fails you often and it reveals your penchant to "make things up.".

I know you "chat board wise." I've known you for what ... 5-6 years or more going back to the "other" board?
You'll say anything to make it appear like you know everything that is going on when in fact you only ever know part of what is going on.

First, you were caught off guard by the probable return of DW.

lol Keaton!

Maybe DW thinks he has a shot at the NBA if he 1) focuses on becoming the best rebounder that he can be, and 2) learns to play within himself offensively. I don't know that. But if he is thinking that way, or just wants to better position himself for Euro-ball, it's because something/someone has caused HIM to reevaluate.himself.

But according to you self analysis and/or outside advice have nothing to do with him considering a return. Horse feathers.

HORSE FEATHERS TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

First, you were caught off guard by the probable return of DW.
Now you act like you know what's been going on all the time.

Now you may proceed to call me an ass hat, exaggerate, and make up things about me.

Say what you want but let me tell you this. KC is the real deal !!!!!! Listen to what it is that the mans is trying to tell you. I know this because I used to be a 'shiny shoes' my dadgum self. I let it go a year or so ago. Without fanfare. No...........I didn't sell the pickle farm. I turned it over to TorontoEERs.

Love you Warez .... but Keaton is as sneaky as he is real.

I wonder how long it is going to take Keaton to edit all those threads if DW doesn't leave. I don't think anyone cares if people would have just said it's a possibility... but for months Keaton has been on both boards stating it as fact with contract figures and railing against anyone who questioned it.

I seem to remember on this board several posts along the lines of "your mistake is thinking all posters on here are equal" when someone questioned his "facts". If he wasn't such a douche...

Keaton, in all seriousness guess I'm missing something. Why would he leave if not to make money playing pro basketball. Thought he was under pressure to help support his family? What am I missing?

It is likely a "money now" situation......... or at least was a few weeks ago. Your post where I referenced the 2 points being incorrect was in regard to you posting that he A) "came to his senses about his abilities" and B) people feeding him bad information.

With the way Devin played last night, he'll have some good options to make good money once the season is over. It seemed 100% certain he needed to take those options until his recent comments. Hopefully, solely for his family's sake, he has the option to return to WVU.......... personally, I don't count on it though.

He's not in trouble. He's not failing class. He's not done a thing wrong. Just want to put that out again before someone gets the wrong idea too...

The thing folks don't realize is Devin has trained every summer with guys like KJ, Flowers, and DaSean at the PF............... He knows what it takes to get to the NBA, and he's seen what great talent STILL isn't good enough without raw, natural athleticism and measurables......... and Devin and his family have likely identified that they could stay in college for 1 year, 2 years, or a decade and never be able to change the facets to his status that could get him NBA attention. His future is playing pro ball elsewhere.......... and he knows it.

I'm sure that Huggs won't allow DW to come back if he wants to come back.

Why am I sure of this? Because Keaton has more or less said so.

Keaton's biggest problem is that he believes his own BS.

Has anyone ever heard Devin or Huggs said anything about DW leaving after this season?

There you have it folks .... don't count on DW having the option to return. Uncle Keaton has forewarned us.

You try so hard, Keaton, to maintain your insider persona, that you just don't know when to stop.
