Just wondering what matchup WVU fans want. I think the bowl will pick VT since they will bring more fans than us but for TV ratings, I wouldn't rule out a Brawl in Orlando.
I do not want to play a freaking ACC school. I choose none of those losers.
If we get the Russell Athletic Bowl it is against an ACC opponent. However, none of these ACC teams are projected to fill that slot except Miami. The favorites from the ACC are Miami, FSU & UNC. I'd like to see the UNC match-up.
You will be playing a former Big East school.
That's not that difficult in the ACC today.
Just like the old Big East - still ND's bitches.Yea, I love it. Basically an ACC/Big East merger. I loved the old Big East (before Miami, VT, and BC left). We basically booted RU and Temple (and WVU though competitive-wise, they were certainly worthy of an invite) and added FSU, Clemson, UNC, Duke, etc.
Of course I'd want Pitt, but they've done nothing to suggest they've earned the right to play us.Just wondering what matchup WVU fans want. I think the bowl will pick VT since they will bring more fans than us but for TV ratings, I wouldn't rule out a Brawl in Orlando.
No Russell Athletic Bowl, no ACC opponent, and especially no VT. That will never be a good idea under any circumstances.
I would prefer to play the best team possible and none of those options are good teams.Just wondering what matchup WVU fans want. I think the bowl will pick VT since they will bring more fans than us but for TV ratings, I wouldn't rule out a Brawl in Orlando.
I'm still holding out for W. Michigan in the Cotton.I would prefer to play the best team possible and none of those options are good teams.
I think Cotton is there but only if IU or OKstate makes the olayoff. Not great odds.I'm still holding out for W. Michigan in the Cotton.
WVU could end up in the Sugar or CottonI think Cotton is there but only if IU or OKstate makes the olayoff. Not great odds.
Sugar can select WVU if conference champ is in the CFP and WVU is ranked higher. You're probably right on Cotton.Oklahoma State would be the second place team since they beat us so they get the Sugar. Therefore the Sugar is not possible for WVU. Neither is the Cotton in my opinion - Big 10 is going to get both at large bids.
I would prefer Alamo vs Washington State.
No the Sugar can not Select WVU over the Cotton. The Big 12 champion goes to the Sugar and it the champion goes to the playoff then second place goes to the Sugar and conference tie breakers are in effect.Sugar can select WVU if conference champ is in the CFP and WVU is ranked higher. I'd rather the Sugar, and not just because its the best bowl.I'm with Woody: Alamo v. Washington St is a dream matchup.
Utah intrigues me as well, solid team on both sides of the ball imo...although the Leach Holgs factor adds a bit of fun to the equation . ..I'm with Woody: Alamo v. Washington St is a dream matchup.
Hey, I'm right there with you but it just seems too far out of reach at this point.I'd rather the Sugar, and not just because its the best bowl.
Pitt or VT. Don't care about Miami, the game would be as meaningless as the other stupid bowl games we played in the past vs random schools like NC State, Texas AM, Arizona State. Nothing against those programs, I just don't think it holds any type of significance if we beat them or they beat us at some random time slot ESPN needs to fill during the holiday season. Pitt or VT is at least an opportunity to shove it in an old rivals face
A solid victory over Miami .... in a Florida bowl ..... would be a help to recruiting in Florida I would think.
