Huggs teaches the never quit, play through adversity type of game. Now he buckles under "diversity, equity, inclusion" crap. Should have made the school fire him and walked away with huge settlement. Instead he settles for a major payout, humiliating training, lessened authority and a sword over his head if he "gets out of line.". He took the cowards way out.

Yawn. He violated his contract and was not getting any type of settlement. He loves coaching and he loves making millions a year. Walking away would have been stupid.

Quit trying so hard.

Why? He should have taken a stand. Instead he is automatically a "lame duck". Or are you saying you would be happy losing 1/4th of your pay, losing your authority, and being publicly humiliated because you had been inadequate in your word choice?

It was either that or walking away from the game. There was no other option. And you should know that Huggins is the one that suggested the majority of this to the University. I reported that within hours of the radio show. He wasn't ready to retire and of course he's expecting big things this coming season.

I understand the limited options. But truth be told his string was running out anyway. He's set financially. We've seen the transfer savior rosters before...and the results have been mediocre. Would have been far better to apologize and force the university's hand. His tough guy, dive for the ball, be true to yourself reputation is now forever changed. Huggs looks soft with this. Better to have a lifetime reputation as a no quit, high backbone, guy than going out with a squishy feeling. Another result of DEI.

You're underestimating this years roster.

I don't agree with what he said. I do think the media has blown it out of proportion by focusing on the Catholic fag line more than the intense rivalry of Cincinnati and Xavier, somehow forgetting the students from Xavier tossing dildos on the court. I do not agree with his excessive punishment. He got out in front of it by apologizing quickly.

The catholic leaders never uttered a word about what was said.

Huggins said he would accept any punishment that was delivered and included a firing if necessary.

So then you want him to signal to the players that he is coaching to revolt, go out on the floor, not do what their told, make mistakes, screw up and expect not to have to pay for their actions ?

Huggins is practicing what he preaches, no matter if we agree with it or not. It would be very hypocritical of him to do otherwise.

Huggins did the right thing after he made improper comments in today's society. He realized it and made amends. That is what people with class do as all make mistakes. So many proclaim they want to make America great again and they should live up to the standards of Christ. Well, America is great but in how we treat each other is not and those that make the claims just want to make things worse by pissing on those that are different than themselves. The goodness of Christ and his teachings is love for all. Those that think it is wrong to apologize when you hurt others really need to reflect on their world and quit being part of the problem. It is ok to disagree with how the University handles things but do some self-analysis on one's hypocrisy.

He was baited into it. That language goes on in every locker room...on every court...and on every field. Manning up to being inappropriate and apologizing is appropriate. Being vilified is another thing. Find out interesting that most of the crew fainting over this are the same weenies that see no wrong in Hunter Biden , BLM riots or Antifa terror. My bet these folks were also the last picked for little league.

So you would have liked for him to set the example of "do what YOU want". That'll work. Especially when you were against players going out there and doing what they want......like kneeling during the anthem. And you calling for them to have their scholarships pulled. Ouch.

Huggs did the right thing. He did something wrong in saying what he said OVER THE OPEN AIRWAYS. Sure, people say that word and others, but not openly.

Should have told the Diversity, equality and Inclusion folks to stick a basketball up their tight assssssssses.

The players already do all that. Don't you listen to Huggs post game pressers?

Or you could ignore me since I don't toe the line to your pansy assed Woke point of view. Your posts are good for comic relief though.
My wokeness? You are the one telling everyone that a guy should have turned down $3 million to satisfy you. Now THAT is comic relief.

Again, you don't like what people have to say on here.....then quit the board.
