From ESPN:

Jesus Machado

''The Crimson Tide aren't the only ones interested in Machado, a 6-foot, 195-pound defensive prospect from Hialeah (Florida) Champagnat Catholic School. In addition to his new Alabama offer, Machado also has verbal offers from Iowa State, Michigan State, NC State and West Virginia."

I would have linked, but this was part of a string of Articles

Apparently, the kid walks on water.

I can't answer your question but I will share my opinion that offering kids that young is moronic.

A school like WVU can barely get a junior in high school to stay loyal to their word.

the probability of landing the kid is low. It is zero if we don't start a recruiting relationship but we increase that chance the better the relationship.

Maybe WVU starts purchasing diapers for people in the Miramar, Fl area (aka Miami) ? You can never start too soon and that's one of our stronger regions.

Edit: That's to say evaluating 8th grade talent is a waste of resources IMO.

purchasing diapers is likely a recruiting violation.

wasting resources is a whole different conversation.

I heard this the other day on college football radio, weird why anyone would offer someone that young. Didn't that backfire on USC?

Well if you think about it. . .
that kid USC offered, is on our roster.
Pretty ironic all things considered.
