Hooters and Bdubs will throw em on the grill for you after cook and sauce but I have found a method that I love.

Fry your wings extra crispy, sauce them and then place under the broiler for a minute or so until the sauce takes to the skin. Turn over and repeat broil. When finished, re-sauce the wings and serve.

Don't burn the wings but just get the sauce a little "brown" on the wing.

Note- I add a small amount of L&P Worcestershire, Kikkoman's soy and apple cider or sherry vinegar to my sauce. I think that stuff helps the broil..

Try it out...
