Dana could blowout the next 6 opponents

ok old wise one.......what team is left on our schedule that we shouldn't blow out????

LOL. You could leave the board and come back in 2018 and most of the postings would be the same. Records don't matter on a troll board.
When a member of CFB was asked about teams with losses getting ranked higher than Baylor and TCU.......answer....they haven't played a good team yet!!!! those damn trolls on the CFB playoff committee

You guys really think WVU can beat Texas and Texas Tech and win at Kansas State in December? They have to be underdogs in those games right now...like I've been saying, this teams a lot closer to 4-8 than 12-0.

Anyone coming to this board for a while knows that

A. When WVU is winning certain posters are nowhere to be found
B. When WVU struggles those posters show up in large numbers

Its not that hard to spot a troll

By simple math we are closer to 4-8 because even if we win 5 in a row we only reach the exact middle between them. That doesn't mean much looking ahead because all the teams left to play, including those 3 are also closer to 4-8 than 12-0.

I don't think any single game left would be considered an "upset" if we won. Only Kansas and ISU would be considered "upsets" if we lost. Winning 5 in a row is always going to be difficult unless you have five extremely favorable mismatches consecutively.

In terms of statistical probabilities, you have only a 59% of winning five in a row against teams you would beat 9 out of 10 times. That's not what we face.

For modeling purposes let's say we would beat Kansas 99 out of 100 times; ISU at home 9 out of 10 times; TTU at home 7 out of 10 times; Texas at home 7 out of 10 times; and KSU on the road 6 out of 10 times. The mathematical odds in that hypothetical of winning all consecutively are about 26%. And, many, with ample justification, would say my model is set up more favorably to us than they would have it.

In any event, 8-4 is an extreme longshot at this point. As I have said, despite my lack of confidence in Dana, if he gets us to 8-4 I think he should be allowed to stay, because, although I still think we could get a better coach, that would have to be considered improvement looking at where we are and how we have finished in past years.

While it is true that WV could 'blowout' their remaining opponents...............I seriously doubt this is gonna happen. The remaining opponents have the same plan for WV. Yes, I am thinking that each of these teams have plans to whip the Mountaineers. A couple of them just may. My prediction is that we wind up 6-6 and play in a Mid Level bowl. Yes.............we win the bowl game. WV has a very good team. The Big 12 is underrated and is loaded with talent. Defense? Who cares about anything but the final score?

I go in reverse. When they are winning I'm all about the team. When they hit the swoon I go find something else to do. I must be a great fan if I'm the opposite of a troll. Yay me

Let's look at the record:

Texas Tech is the only team left with a better season record than WVU's 3-4.
So 4-1 isn't unreasonable. That would make it 7-5 season. 8-4 would be a bit of a stretch because nearly every college team would stub its toe in a 5-game stretch. It's the nature of college football.

M ighty defense throttled Georgia Southern, 44-0

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

U nilaterally decimated Maryland, 45-6, on defense and offense

N oxious offense & special teams against Oklahoma, 44-24

T urnovers lose to Oklahoma State, 33-26 in OT despite impressive comeback from 15-point deficit.

A wesome Baylor too much, 62-38.

I ncinerated by TCU, 40-10. Way too many mistakes, penalties, dropped passes.

N ip Texas Tech

E scape Texas

E rectile dysfunction Kansas

R oll past Iowa State

S lip past Kansas State

I connect him with piss poor coaching, lack of improvement from game to game, inability to identify talent, lack of identity on offense, clueless on QBs, bad game managent, undisciplined teams and most of all losing to most teams with a winning record. Unless Stew is keeping him awake at night by rattling chains up and down the hallways of Dana's house I don't think he has anything to do with the lackluster performance.

the next 5 games will tell the story. It's unfair to blame Holgorson for losing 4 straight games to 4 top 10 teams with a combined record of 32-1. We truly don't know where we are right now. If he loses out, I agree with you. However, we all knew this year wasn't gonna be great. We were going into the season with a 3 QB race to find a new starter. We had plenty of question marks. We are very young. We have freshman and sophomores playing WR replacing Alford and white. You guys act like this is a preseason top 10 team that just got pounded 4 straight weeks to a bunch of sunbelt conference teams.

according to championship rankings...you are FOS!!! I say again.....32-1 against a bunch of nobodies........which is why all were ranked behind teams with a loss. I recall you and everyone else saying this would be the year.....teams will always have to replace players so stop with the damn excuses Dana. Next year will be we had too much talent to replace on defense....

nobody, especially me, ever said this was the year. Your nitwit mind obviously couldn't read what was said. We said, this is the year we finally rebuild our scholarship depth back to almost 85. As far as excuses, learn football. You don't just say, "oh we are down 30 scholarship players. We'll just sign 30 players to fill that avoid (which you can't sign that many in one year per NCAA rules) and expect them to fully function at an upper classmen level.". We just need experience from these young kids.

We all just need to get a life and not put so much time and thoughts into football. We are gaining experience every day..............just like the young kids on the football team. They are expected to get better. We are expected to get better. Look to your home and direct your love and life to your wife, children and extended family. Things that matter. Take what you can from football and leave the rest.

Preach it, Reverend Warez, preach it!!!

Can I get an Amen????

AMEN!!!

Penn State kept winning seven games while on sanctions. They'll get eight or nine this year with a inexperienced team.

get back to me when Wvu can recruit those type of players lol. They are a blue blood. 4-5 star guys. Get a clue

PS. Wvu has also averaged 7 wins under Holgorson.

....anyway...

...can (has anyone even tried) somebody explain DH giving up 3 points before the half ?

I've defended the man..but it was moronic.

WVU is going to go 6-0? Hell, I think Kansas may repeat 2013 especially if our offense cannot find a way to get going. Tech is going to score at least 30 pts tomorrow. Our defense is banged up and Tech's quarterback is legit, probably most underrated qb in the Big 12. Tomorrow will be tough win. Texas is not terrible, that quarterback can rack up the rush yards and dual threat qbs have not been kind to WVU over recent years. Game at KSU will be tough. They are decent despite down year, tough game to play and will be senior day for them + Snyder has owned WVU since we have entered conference. Getting 3 wins will be an accomplishment, let alone 6-0

If Dana blows out his next six opponents, I will be the first one on here, saying what a great job he did, getting everything turned around...
I'll be impressed if he wins 6 straight of any kind, even if they're all by 1 point. There look to be some serious talent deficiencies right now.

If that boomboom guy see's this post from you, his head might just explode from confusion. Just sayin...

That made no sense at all, but I DO appreciate the illustration!

I thought you made a reasonable demand.

Not that I'd disagree with you considering our Thanksgiving gathering is right around the corner.

A competitive game would be a good start. A win would be fantastic. I don't really care much if he stays or goes, but I won't be happy finishing below 4th in the league year after year. We are better than this.

I hear ya on the illustration...can it just be moved up for all those folks that do not appreciate the hair-dos

I will be impressed if he wins 5, and loses 1,by any margin.

I just wanna know when is he gonna get at least 1 division 1 QB on the roster?

I'm glad WVU is winning but let's not be blind to the situation. WVU's final 5 opponents have a total record of Texas 4-6, Texas Tech 6-5, Iowa State 3-8, KSU 4-6, KU 0-11

Our final 5 opponents current record is 17-36 and will most likely worsen over next 2 weeks.

Who has KSU beat? South Dakota (5-6), UTSA (3-8), LA Tech (8-3), ISU (3-8)

Who has Iowa State beat? Northern Iowa (7-4), Kansas (0-11), Texas (4-6)

Who has Texas Tech beat? Sam Houston State (8-3), UTEP (4-7), Arkansas (6-5), Iowa State (3-8), Kansas (0-11), Kansas State 4-6)

Who has Texas beat? Rice (4-7), Oklahoma (10-1), Kansas State (4-6), Kansas (0-11)

Who has Kansas beat? Nobody

I still think KSU beats WVU. They will be playing for bowl eligibility as they will pick up their 5th win this Saturday vs Kansas. Add the fact that Snyder has owned Holgorsen and the game is on the road, KSU is no gimme. Oh yeah, Kansas State is 60th in the nation in rush defense. Not stellar by any means but far better than Texas (95), Texas Tech (122), Kansas (125), and Iowa State (85)

LOL - a Marshall grad analyzing our schedule. I know our final five opponents would have no problem beating Marshall which some fans at one point considered a good win.

The Big 12 is as strong as the Big 10 and SEC this year and way better than the PAC12 and ACC so conference wins are quality wins. WVU has a great chance of getting five conference wins this year and that is better than most of the teams in power conferences.

You can think (hope) all you want, but WVU will likely be favored in their game against KSU.

as strong as the Big 10 and SEC..ok...I knew the conversation would evolve into pointless chaos..and I'm merely a proud grad of Catatonic State.
