Current and former West Virginia players advocate for Gibson on social media

As well they should advocate for Gibby. He's a great guy, and although he's not my first choice, it's good to see his players going to bat for him. It would be a really bad sign for him if they weren't coming out for him.

Of course they are. It's all from a sense of allegiance and self-preservation.
With Gibson, they won't have to "prove" themselves to anyone and the boat doesn't rock.

The same as it was when Stewart was hired.

That debacle won't be made again. Lessons were learned.

New President, new AD.....new lessons might need to be learned

We let a player, Pat White, hire a coach once before. Never again.

I wouldn't go that far. There was whiskey in the room as well as a governor and the guy who paid for the name on the stadium when he was hired. The AD just went along with it.

One thing I have also noticed there's not one former player from WVU, Meat Chicken, or Zona making proclamations that WVU should hire the Product for HC. Even Bobby Petrino had some former Louisville players supporting him when he was at W Kentucky. I think that is very telling.
