It doesn’t matter what they believe. The government will do what it wants and there will never be any accountability. We have seen a 3 year hoax to impeach a sitting president, a president who has peddled his children around the world for kickbacks courtesy of the us taxpayer, bribery, rigged elections, elections with no accountability, lockdowns, drug companies buying off politicians and the list goes on.
The thread about the Covid lie is a great example. Who really cares? Tomorrow Fauci could say he made all the data up about Covid to get rich and control people and no one will do anything about it. So who really cares if we were all lied to? Nothing will change.

The only thing I’m willing to do is influence those I can influence and vote accordingly while simultaneously pushing people towards a Convention of States.
There are options for us as citizens. Very few are willing to feel the pain it would take to make it happen. A general strike would cause the government some problems but a lot of people would be bad off for a lot of reasons.
I'm a Democrat. And I believe you know where I stand (and stood back then) on the government mandates and lockdowns. This isn't "big government", this was about CONTROL. It could have easily been either Democrat or Republican.
It was Democrats. All you have to do is compare how Red State Governors behaved over the course of the "plandemic" compared to most Blue State Governors. The "everybody does it" defense doesn't apply here.
Oh make no mistake I'm not calling the control a D or R ... it was both . I do believe there is more R's wanting smaller government than D'S but not many .
Why I keep saying we need a convention of the states. The rnc and dnc controls who we get to choose from . I'm betting you are a very moderate Democrat as I'm a very moderate republican. We probably agree on most things in some form .
I was referring to abuse of power in general. Both parties have people who desire to strengthen their power over the people. Look back in history.
In general that certainly is unarguable. However in practice where you see or find attempts to seize power and maintain power with virtually unchecked challenges to that power, you will find more happy practitioners who are members of the Democrat party IMO.
Take a recent issue we've been haggling on this forum...school choice vouchers. The ultimate "control" of government power because it seeks to indoctrinate the next generation into methodologies and philosophies of the State...not the individual. Who can you honestly say between Republicans and Democrats opposes school choice vouchers? I'm sure you'll find some Democrats supporting them, as you will no doubt find some Republicans opposing them...but in general there isn't a more clearly defined Left vs Right issue in the current political debate where Democrats line up in unison against vouchers while Republicans typically support them.
I can list a variety of contemporary issues where this same dichotomy exists between those who generally support individual choice and Freedom over government sponsored collectivization and group rights. You may disagree, but the facts and practical applications of policy on these issues would not support your argument.
This is big government and control. It is both democrats and Republicans.

Term limits in Congress is step #1. Max of 12 years. That's two election cycles for Senators, and 6 for Representatives.
As for the office of the President, not much more can be done. I've argued with people over them saying "recall" for the president......that would be too much. Think about it. I believe limiting the terms of Congress will take care of most problems.
EDIT: I also would propose DRAMATICALLY cutting the salaries and benefits (health care, retirement, etc.) of all members of Congress. As well as limiting, or eliminating, corporate America's ability to "sponsor" campaigns and tie individual elected officials to their leashes.

Term limits will help with the corruption. But let’s take the Russia collusion hoax. At this point, it is an established fact it was based on a document with no factual support that was paid for by political opposition, then used to impeach a duly elected president. That is arguably the most treasonous behavior by our leaders in our lifetimes and Nothing is going to happen to the perpetrators. Term limits won’t change that.
