Obtained through the FOIA, WVSports.com has learned the contract details for new West Virginia safeties coach Matt Caponi:

The contract was signed on January 13, 2016 and has a termination date of February 28, 2017.

Caponi has a one-year base salary of $200,000. Like new offensive coordinator Joe Wickline, Caponi also has a clause in his contract, which makes him pay the school 25-percent of his remaining base salary, should he leave West Virginia University on his own. Additionally, if he leaves West Virginia University for a Big 12 program, Caponi would have to pay 100-percent of his salary back to the school.

Caponi also has performance incentives like the rest of the football staff:
-12 regular season wins - $15,000
-11 regular season wins - $10,000
-10 regular season wins - $7,500
-9 regular season wins - $5,000
-Conference title - $7,500
-Non-CFP Bowl - $10,000
-Non-semifinal CFP Bowl - $15,000
-CFP semifinal - $20,000
-CFP title game appearance - $25,000
-CFP game victory - $5,000
