I can't help but wonder what H&B would have been worth in a similar sale 10 years ago.....I also read that part of their problem was the possibility the emerald ash borer could eventually threaten their proprietary sources for ash wood (though they apparently migrated to maple for MLB bats a number of years ago). I guess they're also dealing with legal issues surrounding manufacturing-related problems with their metal bats as well.
Guess there's not a whole lot more left that could go wrong for them.....
