Coaches fired this season so far

Yeah when your Heisman contending QB departs suddenly and you have a week to prepare against a top 20 opponent and a Few others are no shows too, it makes things a bit difficult. WVU had FOUR offensive starters out for that game - including the two top receivers who were injured. They also had some defensive players out. But go on pretending to be a Mountaineer fan as you continue to disparage one of the better coaches WVU has had while praising one of the worst.

Your boy Brown got demolished last year by a middling Minnesota team and he didn’t lose a starting QB headed to the NFL before the game.

WVU had a very nice season otherwise in 2018, especially compared to anything Brown has produced.
How many of those players actually returned in 2019? Stop telling the Brown inherited a top 10 offense you lying troll

Yes they do fool. Its pretty clear you are unwise in the ways of he world. I doubt one dime is coming out of your pocket.
No idiot they don’t. You are lying once again to cover for your failing coach. WVU brings in tens of millions more per year than any buyout even one as asinine as this, and no buyout would be paid in a lump sum anyway.

Brown chased off more than 20 players who had contributed you lying fool, stop pretending it had anything to do with the previous staff.

When watching the games and press conferences, I don't get the impression Brown is a man coaching for his job.
I'm skeptical if wvu can actually raise the money to buy this guy out. Not saying it can't happen but based on our history I wouldn't bet on it.

He didn't chase off anyone and once again name the players that he inherited that made up a top 10 offense. You stated that losing 4 players affected the offense in the bowl game and none of those 4 returned.

They're you go again trying to move the goal posts because you made an ignorant statement concerning chryst. Why don't you just answer the original question.
You are the one trying to deflect the facts and derail yet another thread thinking that will somehow hide Browns failings jackass.

Your guy failed. Didn’t win 7 games. Didn’t win 8 games, didn’t step in and immediately do better. Has two losing seasons and a five win “winning“ season with an asterisk bowl for which he received a ridiculous extension. He has had more than enough time and failed every step of the way.

stop lying, you just make yourself look more stupid every time.

Yes they do fool. If Wvu is going to buy this guy out the money will need to come from the boosters. Not all the money that gets brought in from football actually goes to the football program. It covers a wide array of expense.

Yes he chased off over 20 players.

You pretend to be a WVU fan so look it up yourself. You know as well as I do WVU had a top ten offense during 2018, but you think if you pretend it didn’t somehow Browns horrid record looks better? You can’t lie your way out of reality.

So once again how is Paul Chryst terrible and others that fail to win as much as him not? Having trouble answering it troll?

WVU already has the money to buy him out, it’s a tremendous waste of money probably earmarked elsewhere but last time I checked when you are pulling in $90-$100 million a year with maybe one odd down year, you can fix mistakes like Lyons before it’s too late.

Name these great players he chased off and where did they end up. While you're at it name the players in this top 10 offense that Brown inherited the same offense that was missing 4 in the bowl game that you used as your excuse for the reason we lost.

Wisconsin has a higher winning standard obviously idiot. And WVU didn’t extend the previous more successful coach twice troll. He left after being jerked around the second time.

Are you having trouble answering why WVU hasn’t fired Brown? Because that’s the only thing anyone else can’t figure out. Your boy failed miserably and has turned WVU football into nothing.

If you really supported WVU football then you would know. Holgorsen failed to win 7 games only once at WVU. Brown has never won 7 games at WVU- can’t even win three straight.

Times up.

Like I said the 90-100 million isn't all going to football it goes to other university functions. Whether you realize it or not the salary's that these coach's make at blue bloods comes from boosters as does the money to buy these guys out.

So once again how is he great and Paul Chyrst sucks? Chyrst deserved to get fired according to you but he won more games on average then your messiah.

Excuses excuses excuses. Are you honestly going to sit there and try to pretend every school in the country has boosters except WVU?

Chryst- Wisconsin. Holgorsen- WVU. Understand?

Chryst fired with large buyout. Holgorsen- not extended, got better offer, left.

Only a moron doesn’t comprehend that.

But you still won’t answer— why has WVU NOT fired Brown? Because he can’t sniff either of these other coaches jock straps in terms of success. He has one of the worst records as a coach at WVU, yet you keep licking.

You are looking not at payout, but at every revenue stream those schools had in a given year for athletics. Conference payouts for those schools was far lower than what WVU has had.
You are looking out your ass and smelling your own shit. Quit with constant nagging like some pissed off house wife. You have no idea wht you're talking about. When people disagree with you then insults and false accusations begin. You should log back in as Rootmaster. At least he made some sense.

Nope you're just moving the goal post. Wvu hasn't fired Brown probably because they don't have the money. Its probably the reason they didn't fire Holgorsen after the 2015 season

You're an idiot. Plain and simple. Never ignored anyone before congrats you're the first.
Bucky won't like this article it mentions Holgorsen and Brown in the same context.

These five coaches will likely hang on to their respective jobs with an okay final record, but they all need to put together a strong string of wins NOW.

5. Neal Brown, West Virginia

Up Next: Baylor

At the moment, West Virginia might be the tenth-best team in a ten team league that calls itself the Big 12.

Part of the problem is the league itself – everyone else is good. And West Virginia is good, too. It played well in the loss to Pitt, the shootout loss to Kansas seems fine now, and losing at Texas is losing at Texas. However, Brown is now 19-21 overall and 2-3 this year.

There isn’t a sure-thing win the rest of the way. He could desperately use a win over Baylor this week, and another former Mountaineer head man could use a win, too.

4. Dana Holgorsen, Houston

Up Next: at Memphis

First, he took over as a Power Five-caliber head coach who was going to help usher the program into Power Five status. It’s off to the Big 12 next season, but it was supposed to be – if everything broke the right way – this year’s Cincinnati.

He went 7-13 in his first two years – going way young in 2019 when the season appeared to be lost – and then came a terrific 12-2 2021. This year? 2-3, and it could’ve easily have been 0-5 with the UTSA and Rice games too close for comfort.

On the flip side, Houston could’ve been – let’s say – 4-1 with stronger play. Now Holgorsen gets three road games int eh next four, but the remaining schedule isn’t that bad.

With what’s left – at Memphis, at Navy, USF, at SMU, Temple, at East Carolina, Tulsa – there’s no excuse for this team to not come close to running the table.

3. Bryan Harsin, Auburn

Up Next: at Georgia

It’s just a rough situation.

The base never really took to him, offseason issues and headlines didn’t help, and on the field the struggles offensively have made the screaming deafening. The team fought in the 21-17 loss to LSU, but even at 3-2 there’s a problem with a schedule storm coming.

At Georgia – especially after its performance against Missouri – is NOT the team you want to face if you’re having trouble scoring. However, maybe it’s the exact right team.

Win, and everything changes. Lose, and at Ole Miss, Arkansas, at Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and that trip up the road to Tuscaloosa might drop like a hammer.

2. Scott Satterfield, Louisville

Up Next: at Virginia

There was a problem last season with a second straight losing season. There was a problem coming into the season with a 31-7 loss to Syracuse. There was hope with a 2-2 start and a supposed layup against Boston College. One 34-33 loss later to one of the ACC’s worst teams, and now just getting to six wins and a bowl will require a heavy lift.

A loss at Virginia this week might be a bit too much to salvage the season with Pitt, Wake Forest, James Madison, at Clemson, NC State, and at Kentucky to close.

1. Jeff Scott, USF

Up Next: at Cincinnati

He’s 4-22.

USF wasn’t that horrible before he took over, and it was going to take an overhaul to improve and make a splash. But the team hasn’t beaten an FBS team this year, the only win was over Howard, and even with a 31-28 loss to Florida, every game has been rough.

The trip to Cincinnati this week will probably be another ugly loss, and if there’s not a major upset somewhere, the date at Temple might be the only shot at another win.

Excuses excuses excuses. Are you honestly going to sit there and try to pretend every school in the country has boosters except WVU?
Wvu boosters don't have the money that a good many of these power 5 universities have. You can live in your fantasy world all you want. If you're going to complain as much as you do then double your donation or ask for it back. But you haven't donated a dime and I doubt you have two dimes to rub together.

You're better off ignoring a narcissist. They disappear if they get no attention.

The clock is ticking on Neal Brown. It’s been a disaster to date and WVU can’t afford not to do the buyout if he has another dismal season. Brown isn’t getting any better 4 years in.

Having a bottom dwelling program has much longer term negative ramifications than paying a buyout in the amounts it would be paid per year for the remaining years.

You are nothing and your words mean nothing. The only thing that matters is Neal Browns failings wiping WVU football out of relevance and the effect that will have on the university long term so that your guy can keep stealing money from the AD and fans while providing nothing but Ls in the win loss column.

Well step up and write the 16 million dollar check. Put your money where your mouth is. You could probably negotiate the rights to choose the next coach if you did.

WVU athletics earns around $90,000,000 per year. They also have boosters.

I didn’t create this mess- never would have hired Brown in the first place. It’s up to the U to find financial solutions to right the ship not me.

Wvu's operating budget is estimated at 1.2 Billion for the fiscal year of 2022. 90 million is what % of that? Not all of the 90 million goes to the Football program. Some is allocated to the non revenue sports, Some is allocated to university departments that don't bring in any money but are required to be there by law. Some probably goes to the hospital. When you add it all up the money disappears pretty quickly. Paying 16 million to buy out a coach and his staff and then having to pay additional money to bring in a new staff is a big hit for a school like wvu. This is were boosters come in. Lsu has fired a couple of coach's in the recent past and paid big buyouts. They are able to do this because of the money their boosters have. FSU's boosters raised 17 million in an hour to fire Willie Taggart. Wvu has never shown any ability to do this. If they want Brown gone then they need help from the outside and that takes real money not the monopoly money that you play with in your mental health facility.
