Don't watch 'em, and couldn't care less for them, but it is amusing to read how their viewership is essentially collapsing along with their credibility. Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of Socialist media shills. Good riddance.

excerpt:
"Per several reports, Zucker and Gollust allegedly advised then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) – the older brother of then-CNN anchor Chris Cuomo — on what to say during his COVID-19 daily briefings in the spring of 2020. They also reportedly told Cuomo how to respond to and how to criticize Trump, to make it more compelling TV. (Gollust is a former communications director for Andrew Cuomo.)

In the spring of 2020, the country was in a horrific place. Businesses shut completely; people were scared. There were no COVID-19 therapeutics, no vaccines. Hospitals were overwhelmed, thousands were dying each day. If ever there was a time for news organizations to educate and inform the public, this was it. Instead, Zucker apparently believed it was the perfect time to exploit the situation for political gain and to help the network's ratings."

...conclusion

"The collapse of CNN is now complete: 9 out of 10 viewers, gone. Its top-rated anchor, Chris Cuomo, gone. Its network president, gone. Its integrity in shambles".

In other words...they let their bias control their ethics (or lack of them) and now the chickens have come home to roost.

I think the Discovery deal is going to push them to the center...I really cant imagine they want anything this toxic on their plates.

Look for most of their talking heads to leave for other opportunities....or want to spend more time with family.

I really wish someone would calculate what the viewership and ratings drop would be if they lost their contract with airports.

Since Trump was elected I've said I thought something criminal was going on at CNN.

My theory was China compromised Zucker.

Whenever I'm in Airports I never see anyone siting around watching them. My hometown has the busiest airport in the world and I rarely see folks glued to CNN screens whenever I'm out there.

Possibly. I suspect it was either some disgruntled employee, or perhaps a Patriot photog or video editor who is just tired of all their biased crap? Inside snitch. ;)

Oh I think this merger was it. It was obvious CNN is a liability so clean it up before it hits their own balance sheet.

Whatever it was to cause their demise, I'm glad they don't have as many viewers anymore to kick around. The market through loss of viewership is what ultimately caused their collapse. They can't make money if no one's watching.

CNN (and MSNBC and Fox News too) make money just by them being on a cable bundle that people subscribes to, regardless of whether the person watches. I got Sling TV last fall for football season and watched basically nothing on it other than football, but all those channels I didn't watch got some of my money away, unfortuantely

ATL, what is also gone is DJT. Absent him, there was no one else to vilify and most of their following wanted that dirt. Totally agree they made their own grave and deserve their fate. Of course they didn’t help their cause by hiring deviants for their staff too.

Yes that's true. However they also have revenue streams based on what they can charge advertisers during their most significant viewership dayparts. In Prime time, advertising on Fox costs ad buyers significantly more than what they'd pay for the same spot on CNN or MSNBC because Fox's viewership levels are so much higher. More eyeballs viewing the same message costs advertisers more.

Ditto ESPN. Yes you are correct they do get revenue from cable subscribers, but they also charge advertisers more during their popular shows like College Game day (Home Depot sponsors that) Big Monday in hoops, and their specials like the Heisman awards ceremony or the National College football Championship playoff selection show.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but I think at much lower fee compared to someone with a $150 cable bundle.

ESPN hoards the bulk of those fees, and I assume its the same on platforms like sling just an adjusted scale.

But either way you are right...and ive told people thats why so many people act like political assholes on TV, because they make money without anyone actually watching.

Go look at NBA finals ratings when Jordan was playing compared to know....its like 70% lower I think. These shows and institutions really arent culturally relevant anymore. They just don't know it yet.

The days of a news anchorman being a respected cultural figure is over.

Btw...this is why they have their knives out for Joe Rogan, he's culturally relevant and they aren't.

Same with Dave Portnay, and others. Their reach exceeds main stream media. So their only option is to get platforms like youtube and Spotify to kick them off.

Make no mistake, Rogan will be accused of sexual assault or rape....whatever it takes.
