i believe Bill Stewart recruited more top 15 nfl picks than any coach in the history of wvu football. In just 4 recruiting classes he left more top notch talent for the next coach than any coach we've had.

I'm not saying he was a great tactician. Not saying he was Knute Rockne . But the guy didn't exactly leave the cupboard bear for the big xii. Who's going in the top 15 in the next two years? Nobody.

And before you danapologists go nuts, I know he sealed the deal on a couple of these guys. I know he developed them. All I'm saying is the big east can't recruit, can't compete, big xii talent will explode recruiting, it was all overblown. It's like selling the benefits of the lottery on the state economy. It's not as big a boon as people make it out to be. Stew deserves some respect, that's all.

You definition and mine of cupboard bare are different. But it would have been funny if he had left a bear in the cupboard.Sorry, couldn't resist.

And Dana coached all four and still cant win. Second in the big 12 in NFL players and 6th in wins

What can't he win that the two coaches before him could?
by the time this draft is over Dana will be number two in the Big 12 with putting kids in the show but number 6 in wins.

wins and talent are not adding up

must be all that in-state talent he's not interested in............. like that Towson commit...... that "deserved" an offer

lol.

look guys we all know what Dana is now. A great offensive mind and good recruiter but its not translating into wins.

Dabo Sweeney said in the run up to the NC game this year that he learned a lot in the lose to
WVU in the Orange Bowl. They were faster then us and had more depth. We learned from that game and improved our program. Dabo lead his program to the NC and WVU has been average since.

classy post.......... insult a kid over the internet because you were wrong..
the kid is where he wants/needs to be, close to his family but anyone that went to one of his games last year saw he was not emotionally ready for D1 football. Everyone saw it....

That didn't answer what i asked, or did you just make it up that Dana has the 2nd most NFL players??

and Clemson will have times where they are average and WVU great............ success in sports, short of 2-3 programs, is cyclical....

The point here is Dabo looked at what went wrong and made changes to get his team to the top. What is Dana doing to get us to the next level? What changes is he making? We want/need a guy that can evaluate what is needed to make successful at a high level.

Btw, Keaton, the kid we are discussing is 6'2", 200 lbs and runs a 4.55 forty yard dash. He is built to be a safety in college. He didn't start playing on defense until the 3rd game of the season but by the end he was really starting to hit some people. This kid still could end up in the show if he stays focused. As we all know his jr year he broke Moss's single season TD record. The kid can play!!!

"i believe Bill Stewart recruited more top 15 nfl picks than any coach in the history of wvu football. "

Couldn't even get the first sentence correct.........

Stewart - 2. Irvin, Austin

Holgorsen - 2. White, Joseph

#fail
correction:

Doc Holliday - 2. Irvin, Austin

Holgorsen - 2. White, Joseph

It's nice to see us producing some high round draft picks over the last several years and hopefully that will help recruiting. It is completely wrong to judge our overall talent, however, based on these first round picks.

These are more relevant stats:

2015- Tied for 19th-26th with 4 drafted (8 schools have 4)

2014 – Tied for 36th-64th with 2 drafted (29 teams have 2)

Also, it has been discussed that Dana is second in the Big 12 in the number of kids drafted and 6th in wins. so its more then just these kids

It's tougher to win in the BIG 12. WVU is getting some great talent but needs more of it. Anyone thinking the previous coach would even be having the current level of success just isn't thinking

Lonnie Galloway landed both Austin & Irvin.

David Lockwood recruited Joseph. Jake Spavital, White.

Not that I care about this fascinating dick measuring contest on recruiting abilities between between Stewart and Holgorsen but the above quote is correct.

Lonnie Galloway recruited both Austin and Irvin.

And as for Doc Holiday, puh leeze, he screwed up & over a legacy recruit in Jahlille Addae who plays for the Chargers now and then Dewey McDonald who played for the Colts during about the same time frame. I credit Cogdell for the Mirimar guys. He was bringing to camps when Doc was in Gainsville. Doc is where he belongs, ie not on a WVU sideline on the press box side. Everywhere else is a perfect fit.

oh yeah? I guess Holliday didn't really land major Harris and several others for Nehlen either. Lol

But he has won as many BCS bowls as Stew and Rod? And has won in a tougher conference than Stew or Rod coached against. Facts hurt I know.
this is getting old, one more time.

Dana has the second most players drafted into the NFL during his time in the big 12 and 6th most wins. WVU will have the most kids ever at one time in the NFL this fall in the history of our football program.

Players being drafted is neat and a feather in the cap, but WVU winning is priority. 5 draft picks but only 4 BXII wins. 5 others signed as undrafted free agents. That's an awful lot of potential. Would figure to be one of the most professional laden rosters in program history.

The string of first RD selections is very impressive, but we need to see the talent translating to consistent college winning as well. Need to improve upon our 4-year BXII record for sure & the draft success in a way reinforces that. Glad for the guys & for the positive exposure for the program.

Wvu has put 14 players in the NFL since the 2013 draft the 1st year in which we participated as big 12 members. This is second to Oklahoma which has 20. Its time to stop with the we can't do better than 7-5 where in the big 12 now excuses. The program has underachieved based on NFL draft talent

Since Wvu has had 14 players drafted since 2013 which is 2nd to Oklahoma that must mean we are blue bloods in the mighty big 12 or is it just another sign of DH underachievement

Clemson throws money at the football team and they throw money at Dabo. Money sticks! Now, I am sick and tired of what football represents to some folks. It ain't exactly the key to life and it sure ain't wurf the money folks throw at the team and coaches. Get over the W. It's over rated. Get serious about your wife and kids and folks that you know and that care for you.

You have been extremely quiet concerning Wvu's draft success in the last 4 years. 14 players over that span and 2nd to Oklahoma in picks and to top it off wvu's draft pick average of 3.3 is the highest of any team in the conference. Have you come to terms that wvu's talent level is one of the best in the conference and the we can't do better than 7-5 is nothing but a flawed argument? Or are you just cowering like a dog

Wvu has had 14 players drafted since being members of the Big 12 which is more than any other school except Oklahoma. These 2 sites contain all the information that proves this. If you average all the players drafted by wvu in that span it comes to 3.3 which is the highest of any big 12 school. you can do the research yourself. Im not your secretary but beware your not gonna like what you find
