Maybe I’m just not seeing it.


His head coaching stops have been Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Elon and JMU. Only one of those seasons (the current one) has been at the FBS level and none have been with a P5 program. He was a position coach at Alabama for a few years, so I guess that’s a good thing.


I don’t deny that he’s had success, but the idea of hiring a Sun Belt head coach (again, he’s only been in that conference for one season) doesn’t inspire confidence given what we’re going through.


Most coaches at JMU have had success over the years to my knowledge, but haven’t really set the world on fire after leaving.


Sure, there are worse hires out there, but I would like to think we can do better if we’re about to drop $20 million on a buyout of a former Sun Belt head coach.
