Lansdale (Pa.) North Penn Senior athlete Ricky Johns told me that his visit to West Virginia was highly productive for the junior day and he was able to really meet and connect with the coaching staff. The Mountaineers were the first school to offer him a scholarship and he told me that he spent a lot of time with lead recruiter Mark Scott talking about the program and how he would be used. While he is a two-way player in high school, West Virginia wants him as a safety and believes his length is something that stands out and could make him an impact member of the secondary. Johns was very impressed with the facilities as well and told me that right now West Virginia is clearly among his favorites but he isn't ready to make a decision yet. He does plan on coming back to Morgantown soon and is starting to receive a lot of attention from other schools including an offer from Temple. I think this is one to keep an eye on moving forward as he really likes a lot about the program.
