Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna 2017 wide receiver Josh Ali told me that he hadn't really heard much from West Virginia prior to the Mountaineers offering him a scholarship but it is a school he is very interested in because of the success of the program as well as the fact he has some ties. Ali was a high school teammate of Jovon Durante and his 7-on-7 offensive coordinator is actually Geno Smith's father. He has seen his recruitment blow up as of late with ten offers in a month including N.C. State, Pittsburgh and Illinois, among others since he transferred schools. Ali is being targeted as strictly a wide receiver and wants to find a program where he fits in as well as a place where they're going to throw the football. He hasn't taken any visits yet but wants to make several trips this spring and summer and hopes to have a final choice by the time his senior season begins. I get the sense that West Virginia is going to be a major player here.
