Douglasville (Ga.) South Paulding defensive back Mike Carter told me that he had been talking to West Virginia for sometime prior to the Mountaineers offering and he really likes what he has heard from cornerbacks coach Blue Adams. The biggest sticking point here is the distance from home and that is going to be the biggest hurdle to see if the Mountaineers are going to be a real player here moving forward. Carter is a versatile defensive back that could play all over the secondary and he is coming off a season where he recorded 80 tackles. He has a total of 16 offers right now and is hearing from a lot more schools and if West Virginia is able to get a visit they have a shot here.
