Spoke with Hermitage (Pa.) Kennedy Catholic 2019 guard Maceo Austin and he told me that while he just found out about the West Virginia offer he actually received it after his performance at the elite camp this past summer he just misunderstood the coaches. Austin is a teammate of current West Virginia forward Sagaba Konate and told me that the two are very close and he has told him a lot about the program. The sophomore was the sixth man of the year in the state of Pennsylvania and is coming off a year where he averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game. He is a versatile guard that is long and can post up smaller guards or take bigger ones off the dribble. Austin has a lot of interest in West Virginia and told me that he plans to visit Oct. 22 to get a better look at the program. He hasn't started to put together a list of favorites yet but plans to take his time.
