Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons 2017 cornerback Randall Haynie told me that he heard some from West Virginia in January but had not heard much from the program in recent weeks. He received an offer from the Mountaineers today and was really excited about it because he grew up following the south Florida players that made their way to Morgantown such as Geno Smith. Running backs coach JaJuan Seider is the lead recruiter here and he told me that he is definitely interested in developing a relationship and finding out more about the program. Haynie lists West Virginia in a top group that includes several schools including Duke and Wisconsin and he plans to make visits this summer. Schools are recruiting him as either a cornerback or safety due to his size and a number of schools are sniffing around and could offer soon such as Miami and Notre Dame. He doesn't have a timeline right now but would like to have a decision made sometime after his senior season.
