Just got off the phone with Dodge City C.C. (Kan.) cornerback Elijah Battle and he told me that he had first gotten in contact with West Virginia earlier this week when he spoke with cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell. West Virginia is definitely a school that has his attention in large part because of the history of the program and how he could fit into the scheme. The New Jersey native moved out to Kansas after failing to qualify out of high school and he has attracted offers from seven schools so far including Arizona with several more showing strong interest. So far he has taken official visits to Arizona and Arkansas State in July and is looking to take all three of his other official visits this fall including a planned trip to Morgantown later in the process. Battle is a December graduate and will have three years to play two once he graduates.
