West Virginia became the ninth program to offer West Palm Beach (Fla.) Oxbridge Academy 2018 athlete C.J. Smith and he told me that he was excited to receive the offer from the Mountaineers even though it sort of blindsided him. Smith has offers from LSU, Michigan and Nebraska already and is well on his way to adding a lot more before it's all said and done. He told me that West Virginia does interest him but he wants to find out more about the program because all he knows is what he's heard from some of the trainers at his school. He is being recruited almost 50-50 as a cornerback or a wide receiver depending on the school and coaches have been very interested in his size and skills. Smith told me that he is really interested in Notre Dame and Florida State and although he wouldn't say it yet I get the feeling that if those two offer it's going to be tough to pull him away from one of them.
