Should be a lot of excitement in the air tonight. Place should be rocking with a Southern Conference powerhouse coming into the CCC. Don't be fooled by the Catamounts, just because they lost to the Herd by 35. They will be great for your RPI, which is what I herd was a reason for Huggy taking a powder against the Herd.
So what is the bigger source of butt-hurt for you? The fact that yet another Marshall public relations stunt (the D'Antoni Doctrine) backfired ? Maybe the fact that Marshall lost the opportunity to play a perennial top 25 team on a neutral court? Or the fact that Huggins let it be known publicly about how insignificant Herd basketball is as it pertains to WVU ?

I'm not surprised that a Marshall basketball fan has no clue about being a perennial top 25 team.
I only know my woman has some perennials out in the yard that come up every year. I guess had she planted WVU style perennials, they would have only sprouted 17 times over the course of the last 114 years.

Marshall would cut off their remaining nut to be matched up on the hardwood with the Mountaineers tonight, if only for the money (prostitute-esque). It's obvious, they took thrashings at the hands of the Mountaineers (Even quitting in the middle of one game) for money and potential exposure they couldn't get elsewhere in football. But, the Washington Generals got paid to play the Globetrotters regularly too. Only exception, the Generals won a game once.. Marshall is the equivalent to the cinematic stuntman. You're paid to take beatings and being blown up.
You still haven't answered the question about what causes you the most butt-hurt over Marshall no longer being involved in the Capital Classic.
Looking at the latest RPI rankings and Sagarin Rankings it's no wonder D'Antoni wanted out of it.

You post as though there's a bunch of Marshall fans on this board. Outside of Marine, I can't think of any others. I tried to root for the Herd, but I was told I wasn't a good fan, due to not agreeing with how things are run, so I was dismissed from the program. I just wish Vernon could help me out and delete the last 4 digits of my handle.
Here's a novel idea..........why not have a backup team as your favorite, like Michigan or Ahia State ? You can always go back to being a Herd fan if and when they stop sucking so bad. But you already know how that works.

I don't need a backup team. I've been a Michigan fan for as long as I can remember, and just got fortunate enough to live here for the last two decades, so life is good. I also cheered on the Herd for the last 45 years or so, or at least as far back as I can remember. The younger generation has taken over, and they apparently know it all.
I'm one of the few actual Herd fans that can distinguish between big boy and little boy football, so I don't really have a conflict in rooting for the two teams I've cheered on. I was even a WVU fan, right up until the point where I met Snow Flake in 1997, and realized how fvcked up some of your fans were.
If marshall had a game in Charleston without wvu, would anyone show up except the Elmore family?

You know where I am 24 hours/day because you're my little sick stalker, and know damn well that I wouldn't attend a WVU/Western Carolina match-up, even if I had free tickets. But I did enjoy the only three WVU basketball games that I've attended. I saw Ohio University punk WVU in Athens, Ohio, and in Charleston (think, asbestos), and also witnessed UNLV beat Belyin's boys in Vegas. It was a great night to be a MountainGoat hater each of those three nights!
