“I don’t think he’s that good,” he said. “I don’t think (Ryan) Spangler, him (Lattin) or any of the bigs are good, to be honest. They just did a good job of sticking to the game plan.”

That's Devin Williams on OU's bigs.

Maybe they aren't great. But DW has a whole bunch to learn about his own game before he starts critiquing others. This is delusional talk starting to seep through.

I guess there really isn't much to say about this foolishness.

Not his fault, probably small concussion from all the times Devin got stuffed in the game.
He couldn't see high enough to evaluate what their bigs were doing. Rim in the way.

Devin was a priority for OK. Sure he was stopped but it was often 3 players crashing down on him.

....it's almost like Huggs couldn't/wouldn't change his offensive game plan.

You mean like .... they knew he couldn't pass out of a triple team and that he would force up a shot that he would probably miss if it wasn't blocked? You mean like .... they determined before the game they weren't gonna stand around and let us crash the boards?

Those dirty rotten scoundrels! Next thing you know we're gonna learn that they actually did try to score more points than us!

Their game plan was to frustrate Devin and talk shit to him while they were doing it. It made him force the whole game and Huggs was telling everyone to feed Devin in the post playing right into what they wanted. The ball sticks with Devin and he does not kick back out for a three or find his weak side counterpart.

When you talk shit after a game about how the guys that just kicked your ass aren't any good, you look very foolish and immature.

I say this in the nicest way possible but I think Devin might have an inflated opinion of his own skills. Spangler has accepted his role as a garbage man because with their guards they run absolutely nothing for him offensively. Lattin is pretty awful offensively but is a good shot blocker and rebounder. He plays to his strengths and doesn't try to do too much.

Devin Williams has become a square peg in a round hole this season. We still continue to have long stretches of the game though where we struggle to score when he is the focal point of the offense. If he would take on the roll of a garbage man and accept his role similar to how OU's big men have we would be a much better team. Even then he will still be a good rebounder, with a limited offensive game, who struggles to finish around the basket and doesn't even attempt to protect the rim on defense.

"The ball sticks with Devin ..."

The guy has a very serious lack of "situational" awareness that doesn't undo him in every game. But it seems to pop up far too often.

I mean .... can you actually have a career playing European ball if you can't quickly access whether to shoot, pass, or make a move/drive?

Don't get me wrong .... I wish the best for him. But there is some serious delusional stuff going on here. AND .... I'm not sure that bodes well for this team heading into the postseason.

If I'm a BIG on another team and I get a rebound on Dev, score on Dev, or block Dev I am in his ear telling him, "I guess I'm not very good either. But what the F does that make you? You cry and whine better than you play when it really counts." Then I stay in his ear because I know I can play head games with him.

And then I proceed to watch Dev commit charges and do other stupid stuff while he commits turnovers and other fouls.

If he comes away from the OU game with his head on straight and plays well down the stretch it will be a minor miracle. I'm not saying it won't happen. But he has really put himself behind the 8-ball.
