Can we all agree the move of WV to the Big 12 killed athletics?

Our basketball program just had its best season in 5 years and football has been stagnant for about 7 seasons now with exception to the 70 point Orange Bowl game. I don't think the conference switch changed much for either of the two sports we actually care about.

Can all intelligent people agree, going to the Big 12 saved WVU sports?

Went to a bowl game, finished in the top twenty in basketball.
Football and basketball may be even better next year.

lol, says the fan of a team that didn't go bowling or make the tourney!!

Solid effort bubba. We should have rejected their offer and gone with cinci, south fla, and uconn in whatever conference they play in these days.

People take college baseball seriously?

Yeah, they do........ but as for idiot-assed Michigan Fans, not so much. You think that "idiot-assed" label is unfounded? Ask the Ann Arbor folks about the RichRod fiasco....... you dumbasses managed to F**K-Up two programs with that little back-door, underhanded, chicken-shit move.

Hey Bubba

Michigan State owns you. Unbelievable that Michigan, a school with all the resources available to them has been stinking it up so bad of late. Ohio State laughs at you openly. What is your excuse, or do you have more than one? But to answer your question, No, WVU's move to the Big 12 did not kill Michigan's athletics. You guys have screwed that up all by yourselves.

Seriously, Soaring Eagle...?

"Went to a bowl game"...? So did 77 other schools. I hope your standards for WVU football have not fallen that far...

Can we all agree there are more crackheads in Michigan per capita than

any other state? Take Bubba here for example.

My bad. Of course, it would have been better not to go to a bowl game.

I thought playing Texas A&M in a decent bowl was a good accomplishment, however, you've opened my eyes. In fact, your dazzling brilliance has blinded me.

I should sue you for not having a disclaimer for unintended blindness attached to you post.

yeah...its rough...

making more money in tv revenue ($27.0 million plus) a year with mac donations still coming in strong....

new $25.0 million baseball stadium

new $22.0 million basketball practice building that is one of the best in the country.

enrollment is up for undergrad...record enrollment and applications

we are actually in a conference with schools that have same culture and focus on sports

...and the big 12 folks like us, they really do....

I blame Pitt the Big 10 and the ACC for all non-geographic conference turmoil.

Pitt weaseled into the Big East basketball conference and would not work with Penn State to develop an eastern all-sport power conference. Then that traditionally eastern school joined a mid-western conference which started a long chain of dominoes falling. Rutgers and Nebraska in the same league? WVU and Texas Tech? San Diego State and Boise State to join the Big East? Colorado in the Pac 8, 10, 12, XX?

Sorry, I had you confused with somebody who wouldn't resort to straw men...

In 1994 that would've been a good accomplishment. In 2014, it's barely mediocre.

I was simply pointing out that "getting to a bowl" is no longer anything of note when more than 60% of the schools in the country do it, and your case could've been better made using another more selective measure.

Resorting to a straw man doesn't make that case for you.

It never ceases to amaze me of the ignorance of people from Michigan.

they know nothing about college sports....kind of laughable....or maybe sad.

No.

I think the Big 12 and WVU are both very happy. If your honestly trying to make a statement based on facts then you might want to take a look at the revenue that WVU generates now compared to what WVU generated in the Big East.

If your just simply a troll trying to start something with WVU because Michigan desperately wanted both WVU's football and basketball coaches and it backfired then you might want to start something with Michigan for being the idiots to do so.

Either way you can tell its the dead period of sports because Michigan fans would be worried about the Utah game instead of WVU's success in the 3 years of being a Big12 member.

Can we all agree that WVU has had more success in basketball and football since Michigan begged our coaches to go to Michigan?
