Buddy Hield is not making many friends in Morgantown

He's right though....the guys seemed a little hesitant pushing the ball inside....No help for Devin. I think that starting five fo the Sooners looked like they wanted this one more. We have noone who can take over a game like he can. Or at least noone willing to.

That doesn't bother me one bit.
He walked the the walk and now he can talk the talk.

What's he suppose to say .... "I'm really sad because it was no fun to walk into WVU's house and out-tough them. I'm really sad that we won."

But then .... I never got upset at Buzz Williams for have a fun little dance one day.

devin was trying to do things he can't again, but it wasn't by choice. he kinda had to today. we were slow footed and under manned, entirely due to injury and fatigue.

don't think it's a big deal Hield isn't part of the politically correct crowd today. last time he credited WVU in Norman as one of the best teams in the nation.

definitely agree, tired & not at full strength. was easy to see OU tracking down every 50-50 ball beginning in the first half. they won turnovers + rebounds and thus the game.

I believe WVU will bounce back though with 2 wins next week to get up to 22-7, 11-5 and all's right again in Mountaineer nation.

like TX & OU had not, we've not dropped 3 in a row this season nor last.

to the point where all that matters is maintaining a decent seed & getting 100 percent ready in every way for the NCAA tournament. hate to concede or accept defeat, but everything else pales to the Big Dance. I'm fine with backing away from some of the ranking hype, moving a little back under the radar, resting guys, getting healthy like last season with Juwan & Gary, playing some zone, whatever is Huggs' best plan to get this group ready for the NCAAs. big picture.

yeh, i said the same thing in the game thread. try to win, get some wins, but get ready for the tournaments

He actually gave WVU a great compliment. He said "toughest team" in referencing WVU. I don't mind what he said.

23-8 seems more Realistic now then before this weeks games. I don't see a win at Baylor. I also aam not sure Monday's game is a lock. Time for a final push to the Finish.

22-23 regular season wins is fine by me and was generally expected. Maybe 23-24 including what happens in Kansas City. Fact is, the BXII has been and remains with Kansas.

The ebb and flow of a season like this vs this schedule - and accounting for Holton's suspension & unexpected injuries - you can't get too high or too low, but rather appreciate the total body of work & hopefully a memorable March run. It's been a great ride so far for sure. I hope for a great finish for Holton & Paige. They'll be missed.

As for Hield, he's earned respect & I suspect he respects WVU very highly. The No. 3 or whatever they actually are team is thrilled to beat us in a critical needed win. There's worse things than that. Stay the course. Quick turnaround here Monday.

Just win in March.... When it matters

I was glad we didn't play Dax yesterday and push him to fight through injury.....

We just have to execute better. As Huggs says - "effort is great but effort without execution is just wasted effort"

You're correct, and that is what is missing from the quote at the top of the thread. Hield said that WVU was the toughest team in the country before he said what is in the quote at the top of the thread. Why any WVU fan would take offense to his comments makes no sense to me.
