No matter the result of this game. Even if the miraculous happens...

They make the same mistakes over and over.

There are no new wrinkles added.

Play calling is predictable.

This was a game they should have won by 14 or more.

Started off the season creating and believing a bunch of hype based off what - a bowl win against a team with half its starters out? What's worse, gave that to the players who now realize they've been deceived.

We're at Florida State levels now.

We'll win a few games just due to a talent difference. That's it...

Sadly, this rant isn't even emotion based - just based on observation, previous experience, and predictability.

Let's run CJ to the sideline, he's built for it.

Let's run CJ back to back to back to back, Pitt won't guess it.

Let's run to the bank and cash this week's check, WVU administration isn't paying attention.

How about this...

We've got the lead with two minutes left and the ball.

First down, run it. It's not going to go anywhere but who cares right now.

Bring in a DT as a fullback. Doesn't matter who, they know you're running it anyway. Tight set, single receiver to the field. We're running out the clock and taking your timeouts. Suck everybody up...

Fake handoff to the field, have receiver attack as if to block then take off for fly route. Everybody is seeing run, including that corner, and expecting run. Easy pitch and catch...

Wouldn't care if it failed. At least its being aggressive. It's breaking from what they always do. Shows some initiative...

What can Brown do for you?

Blow a double-digit lead in less than half a quarter.

Yep, it takes somebody special to do that.

You've seen our QB's accuracy, right? We should be running more QB designed runs instead of passing it with him.

Shoot, yeah, you're right... but at least it wouldn't be predictable.

You know, like succeeding on a fake punt. Awesome move...

But then, don't talk to your punter and tell him he's not getting that again this game and not to hang on to the ball. Get rid of it, they will be coming after it ...

Middle school coaching. Football 101. Common sense.

Any of those would work in this case. But, did they?

Of course not. That would break the Brown tradition...

I know, let's play prevent defense.

Lets drop back to a spot and stand there... then read and react after the catch.

Or, STILL let the guy get behind you... again!

Because the first 3 times that went for scores were just anomalies...

Morons...

WVU must recruit from the spec ed departments of a public school. They watch tape of spelling tests and choose the ones who score somewhere above drooling.

including that corner,
Except in Pitt's defense the corner is not doing anything but playing man to man on the receiver, so he will be doing the same thing he has done all game long, cover said receiver, as pitt's corners have "0", that's zero, run responsibility.

Right, that's why you're running the play toward him plus the receiver is coming off as if to block, then takes off. He should have a step...

At that point in the game, most people would be believing its a run, because that's what is to be expected. Plus, its what Brown ALWAYS does so there is that, too.

But, I know, this is WVU we are talking about. Greene would miss him by a mile, the receiver would drop it, or bobble it for an interception/pick six, or be so slow the corner would catch him despite having a 10 yard lead, and Brown would never call something like that anyway.

I'd just applaud the effort. The breaking of predictability, the going for the jugular, anything that shows some cajones and a desire to force your will.

But, this is Brown so we should just expect the expected.
