Breaking News!! Pat White to interview for QB coach opening!

What trade issues...

It is called free trade.
Companies can do whatever they want or they should be able to do whatever they want.

If you actually look at all these supposed trade restrictions of China you would see it for what it is.

It is called Nationalism. Thinking the US can remove itself from the world.

If this would happen the United States would have major issues .
Especially economically

It is way too late to roll back what has happened to the world since WW2.
It's called Free Trade?????? Oh, so misinformed you are.

NAFDA hampered our ability to trade freely. Gave jobs to Mexico while our auto industry folded. We weren't allowed to sell Dairy into Canada.
China imports more into the US and doesn't allow us to export to them without high tariffs.
Don't even go there. You're showing that you know just enough to not poop yourself.

You don't give jobs away.
Companies should be able to put their factories anywhere they want .
Some companies like the auto companies put them in the United States .
Asian and European car factories are all over the US.
Companies are multinational.
They shouldn't have to adibe by the rules of one country.

Regarding China....

People buy the products and they like cheap things from Walmart.

So we are able to sell cars into China, Russia, Cuba any time without a tariff? Really, that's what you think we are able to do? There are countries in South America that do not allow a US car to be sold.

Yes, we buy cheap things from Walmart made in China. But try to buy something in China that is American made without an extremely high tariff.
THAT, my friend is what The Donald is fixing.

Russia wanted to excluded itself from normal business relations with the world.

Regrading China. I believe the car has to be manufactured in China.
Let me find the website. Most of their trade restrictions aren't as severe as some make them out to be.

A lot of them have to do with food and medicine.
80% of their restrictions the US has as well.

If Chinese want to work for a dollar a day let them...

That is their choice.

Do you really think the US needs a bunch of 8-14 dollar a hour jobs.

Our economy is a lot more complex than that.

They sell natural gas and they can’t stand out shale boom

No, a lot has to do with manufacturing.
We used to sell a lot of coal to China. Now very little because of the restrictions our own gov't placed on the transaction. This is the partial reason for the decline of coal jobs.
We used to sell a lot of steel to China before they stole intellectual property to build their plants then they used their slave labor to oversaturate the market and dump steel on the U.S. further causing the decline of the industry in the 70's.
Doing the same with IT now.
Chinese gov't allowing companies to hold down wages so they can turn out products to flood the world wide markets and therefore destroying segments around the world. Their gov't subsidizes companies to dump product overseas while in turn putting tariffs on imports.

Get a grip. It isn't a Free Market Society. To think so is foolish.

We sure miss the 14000 jobs GM let go and stay in Mexico that paid way better than that. We got way off task from where we started lmao

You are living in a 1970's world.

The United States has promoted the same system since the end of World War 2 around the globe.

The Chinese in the 1990's finally agreed to join the modern world.

Everything China does is correct...
Not really.

But it is much better than pre WTO China.
The introduction of China into the global economy was one of the things that created the economic boom in the late 1990's.

What coincided with the boom was the move by the United States to more technical jobs.

There are a lot of people in the US that aren’t equipped to go to college but will work your butt in the ground with their hands and deserve to make good money such as the manufacturing jobs. But millionaires want to be billionaires and need 40 plus percent EBITDA. The same people that hug trees and complain of a humanitarian crisis don’t say a word because their t shirt is 15 dollars or their car is what 5 g cheaper or whatever the numbers are

I know.

General Motors doesn't have a nationality.
GM may have started in the US but it is an International citizen or Multinational company.

The average working man gets hurt only if they allow themselves to.
There are so many other ways to make money in this country to not worry about a job that does not exist anymore.

I believe in the individual.

Meaning that if someone wants to be poor they make that their choice.
To me Trump goes against this because his entire campaign was built on scapegoats

There are way too many to list.

But...

If someone wants to get themselves out of their situation they will.
You have no one to blame except yourself in this country.

I can list probably about 5000 jobs that you can find a living wage at still today even without attending college .

It is headquartered in Detroit and still currently owes the US government and taxpayer about $10 billion of unrecovered funds after we put in nearly $50 billion and owned 500 million shares.

It is an American company. Literally. Our country was the largest shareholder with nearly 60% of the stock.

Does the company own the US or the US own the company.

I would think neither of them are true but it seems like some of you want that to be the case.

Truth is companies shouldn't be attached to any country.

Korea has a huge issue with that.
Their companies are pretty much their government.

Oh how naive you are. Take away millions of jobs in Auto industry, Steel, Coal, Textiles and set the middle class back 20-30 years in every area decimated by the dumping of foreign products. Further keep wages down by bringing in unlimited labor from south of the border. This takes jobs away from the lower and middle class. Free trade was only one way.

Open borders???? Let's get real. It not only holds down wages it cost us extreme amounts in social benefits given by the govt.

As Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in an interview, the most disheartening thing she sees today is that the majority of 20-25 year olds think that Socialism is the right direction and Democracy needs to be replaced. This is coming from the left of the left wing.

It is literally considered an American company. It is legally an American multi-national.

Socialism has its roots in Populism.
The same roots that some far right thinking does as well.

It was funny to listen to some people say that the liked both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.

Even our current president is an American multi national.

He has business dealings all over the world.
His business is more important to him than our country and ran for president to benfit his business.

When you lose a debate...change the topic. Good job.

You already said they are legally a multi national company....

I said American multi-national. But hey, dont let facts get in your way.

You can look it up.

They are headquartered in the US. The majority shareholder was the US taxpayer. Like I said, you picked the worst possible example.

But you can carry on with your hysterics, I wont keep raining on your rage parade.

You are placing labels on companies that do not exist.

GM does not care about the US nor should they
They are a company. If the US collpases General Motors still goes on.

Then who would bail them out when they collapse.

These arent made up labels. It is real stuff.

I do understand your greater point. But sometimes theory collides with real life, thats all. However, this entire discussion is an excellent example of why coaches should not engage on issues of politics which are divisive.

How many TDs did Dana, Jake & Mike Leach pass & rush for?

Pat White would be a dynamite coach in the right offense & an undeniable recruiting asset at WVU in particular.

How do we know that? Just because you are a good player doesnt mean you will be a good coach.

In regards to recruiting, how many high school prospects really know who he is? He is a big deal to us, but we arent 17 year old kids.

Current recruits were 4 or 5 when PW was playing here.

Texastrill is young and wet behind ears. He doesn’t know much of anything. He’s young, doesn’t have a wife or child yet and doesn’t have a real job yet. Young, dumb and liberal.

Butlereer you schooled the dippy boy here. I like it.

Pat White could coach QBs easy and definitely recruit. Bunch of dips who never played QB are coaching the position all over. Pat is qualified.

Some of that is true but...

You want a QB coach that can establish an offensive sequence that can create points.

As most OC's are QB coaches as well or if not they are with the OC developing a game plan.

What I saw from Alcorn St will not win in the Big XII.

I hear ya. Give him a chance. Pat's resume indicates he knows the position.

Recruits likely not alive when their recruiters played. Don't think age is determining factor.

Lonnie Galloway -- QB, Western Carolina, 1994
Signed Bruce Irvin, Tavon Austin, Gary Jennings, David Sills, Kyzir White, Marcus Simms

Doc Holliday -- LB, WVU, 1979
Signed Geno Smith, Stedman Bailey

David Lockwood - CB, WVU, 1988
Signed Karl Joseph

Rick Trickett - S, Glenville St, 1972
Signed Pat White

Bill Kirelawich - LB, Salem College, 1969
Signed Steve Slaton

I want him to get a chance. But it needs to be an appropriate one. He is not qualified to be a QB coach in the B12.

Put it this way, is there ANY other major program interested in giving him the same job?

His resume indicates no competetive qualifications compared to other candidates.

When you said he would be an "undeniable recruiting asset", I assumed you meant because of his status and legacy at WVU. I was merely stating that current recruits from around the country probably know nothing about him. The truth is we dont know anything about his ability to recruit. He hasn't proven it.

If we were recruiting a bunch if in state kids who parents were mega fans then that would be different.

I am of the belief it is no longer about politics.

The people who were supposed to keep a handle on Trump have quit in disgust.

The stock market is purposely tanking to remove the guy from office.

The guy is attempting to make our government look weak and trying to get people to not trust our political process.

I think everyone should voice their opinion on Donald Trump...

Because like I said it is not about politics.

Conservatives and Liberals both want the guy out .
"..Conservatives and Liberals both want the guy out..."
A whole lot of Lib wishful thinking not supported by REAL facts (forget that which is brought to you by your local fake new outlet!
Few can honestly say they are not much better off now, and in a variety of ways, than when Obama left office! And all this accomplished with the backdrop of hostile media, socialist Dems, deep State, Old guard/main line Republicans, the SWAMP in general, etc.

Let's reword it..... Conservativism goes against everything taught at all colleges and universities. And their lies the problem.
Teaching it surely does not make it right. Been heading down this disastrous path for decades. Never been right; sill not.
