friend who coached at phs for years before retiring to sarasota (near bradenton) tells me this kid is pretty good.....other than the university of west virginia refer in the lede, this story seems to be legit.....did i read someone on here say wvu coaches aren't acknowledging this?.....if so, why would they write the story?.....lots of good players in that area, so if this kid is a standout, he must be a nice get if the story is true.....of course, many an early florida commitment historically can be specious......

apparent lang commitment......

"My mind is open to other schools," Lang said. "I just wanted to commit because I always wanted to go there."

That's a pretty tepid commitment to me. I'm not sure these kids know what the word means.

Well, that's probably why the divorce rate in America is around 50% too. Just saying it's not only kids that don't understand the word "commitment".....

If they don't know what "commit" means they sure as hell don't know what "tepid" means...... using the parlance of those of us who roam the hills and hollers, "sounds like bullshit to me".

The article, with quotes from Johnnie, doesn't make it sound like a firm commitment. I can tell you that Johnnie is a fantastic RB. I've watched him play many times and he is one of the best to suit up for Manatee. He is an every down type of back that gets better as the game goes on. I don't know him personally so I can't speak to how he really feels about WVU. I'll ask around and see what I can find.
