Yes, we play top 10 Louisville and they owe us a beating but won't be a day at the beach for the boys from the 'ville!
We will play again, when you're strapped for cash as a result of raw deal CUSA has handed you. And the game will be in Morgantown. Every time. And you will like it because we pay big bucks to lots of little brothers that need a nice paycheck. Speaking for myself, I'd rather us help Marshall athletics balance their budget than some of the ones we are keeping afloat now, but those teams recognize their place in the pecking order. You boys haven't learned yet. When the collection agencies start hounding your AD I'm pretty sure he will be calling WVU begging to come to Morgantown every year to collect a bit of our bounty. $$$$$$$
Quite a few have UL around 25 nowhere near Top 10. I think they have the weapons and coach to be a Top 10 team though. They will destroy the Herd in Huntington and Herdies will remind us of the time the beat the Cardinals. That you can be sure of. Not this year..below average Herd going up against a good UL will be outmatched.
I don't blame you for practically bursting at the seams for actually playing a team that doesn't require a google search to see who they are.......in fact two decent opponents in the same year !!
I imagine you'll be playing a lot more P5 teams in the future, but it will only be on a one and done basis and you will be the visiting team. Not the best scenario for you, but those P5 schools pay little guys more for one game than CUSA pays their teams for an entire year.
On paper maybe, but one never knows. Too many times Marshall has been expected to be blown out, only to see the Herd prove otherwise. It may be tougher than you think. You can bet the farm, Marshall will be laying in wait. All efforts will go into Louisville. With one of the weakest in-conference schedules in the country, Doc can afford to look ahead...That could spell bad news for the Cards, especially if they're looking ahead as well.
I would be very surprised and even disappointed if Marshall doesn't give Louisville more of a fight than they expect. In fact I wouldn't be shocked if Marshall pulls off the upset. For that game and Marshalls game with Pitt, I will be rooting for the Herd. Now I've got to go wash my mouth out with soap for saying that.
We'll give them a game...Litton will be much improved this season, won't be a wide eyed Frosh anymore! Our defense will be really good this year but will have to be to get Jackson on the ground.
Louisville is good. Western Kentucky is decent. Nobody else on your schedule moves the needle.
WKU will be a bit down this season, IMHO....hard to replace Doughty and that big TE!

Don't get me wrong. UL is going to kill you but at least you are trying to get a notable win.
I couldn't go "all in" on the Cards today! They haven't beaten us in almost 40 years but have a strong team in 2016. Have to see the spread before I'd jump on a position. It was true Purdue was no Kansas but few can match the Jayhawks!

1. We have never been as psyched over beating Kansas (even in basketball ) as you were over beating Purdue.
2. After multiple years, you have never once explained how you can brag about multiple wins over UL as your superiority to them..... yet, you fail to use the same logic in WVU'S 12-0 dominance over Marshall.
Please allow me to retort:1. No one was excited/psyched about beating PU, we expected to win that game.
2. MU dominance over Louisville has all transpired in the age of plastics and must be examined through the law of averages. Louisville is due to beat us.

You act like WVU owes MVU a continuous football series. WE don't need excuses as our AD will do what is best for WVU not MVU. I can see us playing MVU in the future but only in Morgantown and only when MVU stops acting like a 5 year old.
Maybe I can help you understand it Tony......... WVU would crave an ongoing series with Notre Dame - it would be great for us, a sold out game every time they came......but the fact is that it would do us more good than them - they don't need to play WVU so they don't. And if we tried threatening them or telling them they were afraid of us it would practically guarantee that they'd never play us again. In a similar light WVU does not need to play Marshall. It would be great for Marshall fans but does nothing for WVU, so we don't need you on our schedule. Then there's that sticky little bit of history of the chicken suits, "bring your dog if your skeert", and MU trying to dictate terms to WVU, and let's not forget the Dantoni Doctrine which helped burn what ever bridges existed between WVU and Marshall ever playing again in either football or basketball. Get it???
It is not relative opinion. Marshall fans acted like absolute douchebags over Purdue. It was sad. It was the definition of small time.
Rockhead is a out of shape fumbler. You have better RB talent on your roster. Kid might be tough, but that's all he is.
They also embarrassed themselves when they went all ape shit over beating a weak Maryland team a few years back.
Maryland was just depleated on that date. There is just something about bragging over a Maryland win to a team who had, at that point, beaten MD like 26 times.
If they beat UL, color me impressed if UL plays how they are supposed to play.
Don't you get it, MVU beat a team that has beat us. That is a classic MVU victory over WVU. Moral victories since real ones are so damn elusive.
Yea, but Purdue has nothing on us and they still overplayed that win. I think it is overplaying every win before they are inevitably erased from D1 football.
