Bowl Information from WVUSports....the possibilities

You know how it is, Woody. As bad as our non-Pat White bowl record is, it sure seems like we lost more...ha ha

Speaking of Corum, I've always wondered how close his 1962 team came to getting a bowl bid. They didn't beat anybody good, but finished 8-2 with blowout losses to 9-2 Oregon St and 9-2 Penn St.

Does your memory go back that far, Woody?

Actually my memories of WVU football start in 1964. However I have read a story on Nebraska and the Gotham Bowl in NYC for 1962 which was the beginning of the Nebraska bowl run. WVU turned down a bid to that game due to the fact that they would probably lose money on the trip. Nebraska had to accept some sort of revenue sharing agreement. Nebraska beat Miami of Florida in that game. The second and last Gotham Bowl.

Russell athletic bowl might be looking for a backyard brawl action! This was from their Twitter account @RussellAthBowl: If we get a Pitt/WVU #RAB, we can still call it the Backyard Brawl, right? We're in Florida; a scuffle behind the house is standard stuff.
