MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 13, 2017) – West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins has announced that Trey Doomes has signed a national letter of intent for the 2018-19 academic year.

Doomes, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard, currently attends University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, playing for coaches Adrian Sosa and Jim Carr. This is his first year at University after transferring from Allatoona High in Allatoona, Georgia.

“Trey is a versatile guard who will be able to play multiple positions,” Huggins said. “He is very athletic and intelligent. He should be able to come in and make an immediate impact.”

A native of Acworth, Georgia, Doomes finished his junior season at Allatoona High by scoring 31 points in a Class AAAAAA state semifinal loss. For the season, he averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.2 steals per game.

He was a Class 6A North First Team All-State selection, the Georgia Junior of the Year and was an All-Metro Atlanta Boys Third Team. Doomes played AAU basketball for Nike Team Florida.

Doomes joins Derek Culver (Boardman, Ohio/Warren G. Harding High/Brewster Academy [N.H.]), Andrew Gordon (Clearwater, Florida/Dunedin High/Northwest Florida State College) and Jordan McCabe (Kaukauna, Wisconsin/Kaukauna High) in the 2018-19 recruiting class.

“Our staff believes that even though they will be young and inexperienced next year, they will bring size, speed and a skill set that Mountaineer fans everywhere will enjoy,” Huggins added about this year’s recruiting class.

Is the class complete? As in Huggs is done recruiting for '18? Or does it mean just that the 4 commits have all signed LOI's and that completes the current signing process for these 4 recruits.
