This may have been talked about before, but I want to talk about it now.

I grew upon the 80s and 90s, so I got to see the Big East at its best. I miss those days of football.

My question is, if you were able to go back to just before the ACC cherry picked V-Tech, Miami, and BC, and had the sway and pull to expand the Big East, who would you invite/add? This is completely football related, so no thoughts of the Catholic schools.

My Big East would look like;

NORTH
West Virginia
Pitt
Rutgers
Boston College
Cincinnati
Syracuse

SOUTH
Miami
Virginia Tech
Louisville
South Florida
Central Florida
Maryland

NORTH
West Virginia
Oregon
Wisconsin
Notre Dame
Nebraska
Kentucky

SOUTH
Florida State
Georgia
South Carolina
Virginia Tech
USC
Texas

If we're going to do revisionist history, I'd at least like half the theoretical conference to be somewhat relevant in something.

...I'da reached out to the Big12 in their old format, put together the first power conference with true national/coast-to-coast sway....that'd been fun to watch!...

eastern independents never had a chance. there was always an issue with leadership. for example, i present to you the last great hope of the eastern football league.......

Big east had a shot at Florida State n didn't go after them. they joined the ACC and the rest is history.

Because Oregon to the Big East is a perfect fit. LOL
