Big Brother is pissed

I was actually surprised the game was close. Good sign, come tournament time.
Herd wins the CUSA tourney, and they're in.
Deal with it.

MVU ... you guys were close against somebody in the top 100 of the RPI. Another moral victory.
Moral Victory? I'm just stating it the way I saw it. I was expecting them to get blown out, so I was glad to see they competed well, and it tells me they have a least a chance to win the tournament, even if it's a slim chance.

I guess I could have pulled a 'WVU', and blamed it on the officials, poor lighting, hard rims, but I'm above using excuses to explain away defeats.

I thought we 'd beat 'em...but thought MU + 6 was a mortal lock! Hey, we'll re-group and kick their ass in the tourny!

Yeah, I'm guessing the Blazers don't want no part of the Herd come tournament time.

I was a little skeptical about Dan, but he knew what he was talking about, when he laid down the proclamation about the Herd coming back.

Also, have to give some credit to the WVU coaches. Both Hogo and Huggs know when it's time to take a powder.

they're trying to have an adult conversation here....you go back in the other room to the kids table and they'll call you if they need anything...[cheers][smoke]

Agree that this looks good for marshall come conference tournament time. It's very hard to beat the same team three times in one year so I think we beat UAB in the tournament and get into the Big Dance.

Sounds like a plan to me...Hope we draw WVU in the first round of the dance, beat their brick laying assess and not play them again until we're all dead!

That's assuming you even make it to the CUSA final and UAB is the opponent ... you could get knocked off by anybody in the CUSA tournament and then have to buy your way into another tournament.

Then, to play us in the first round, the CUSA champ would have to enter the NCAA bracket (google it, I know Marshall fans have no reason to keep up with that) as a 14 seed, which may happen, but not necessarily in our bracket.

Then you have to beat us ... false hopes. Your record, like in football, is built based off playing the worst of the worst. You already lost to us by 18 and haven't fared well with anybody in the top 100 RPI.

Yep, IF, they win CUSA tourney, they'll be a 16 seed. 16 seeds don't play 3 seeds.

So typical of turd fans, they play nobody, they beat nobody and suddenly they are world beaters. If they break the RPI top 100 next year in basketball, they will don their chicken suits and strut around the capital. Really all they have to do is beat the point spread for them to get giddy over a team that barely has a winning record.

Wow...Just looking at this thread...... I've never seen a fan base coalesce around losses as Marshall fans do. In their minds, they never lose. How badly they lose is where they hang their hat. And, they also win if the Flagship loses. I've truly never seen a similar fan base in any other sport on any level, and it's systemic throughout theirs.

So UAB is 2-0 against Marshall this year and all of a sudden they "want no part of the Herd"?

Goodness, you guys are special.
Here, maybe I can help. UAB beat Marshall twice during the regular season, with both games coming down to the final possession. Again, UAB doesn't want to go down that path again. They would prefer to see the Herd out prior to facing them again.

Why?

Isn't the whole point to win the game? UAB is 2-0 against Marshall this year. I'd think UAB would have no problem going down that path again.
Allow me to try this again. Oklahoma beat WVU both times they met this season. The first game came down to the wire, the second game, not so much. Regardless, if given the choice, would Oklahoma prefer to play WVU in the championship game, or would they rather play TCU? Keep in mind, CUSA is a one bid league, so you must win the tournament to get in.

UAB will be playing at home and has nipped us twice....but in a even match between two teams , the sun don't usually shine on same dog's ass three times, that's all Michigan was saying!

You couldn't beat them on the road ... you couldn't beat them at home ... but you'll take them on a neutral court. Got it.

Prefer is not what was said. I believe it was "wants no part of the Herd". I'd say Oklahoma would rather play TCU than WVU but I doubt the Sooners "want no part of the Mountaineers".

"We're winless against UAB but they're scared to play us". Say that out loud and let it sink in how ridiculous it sounds.

Yes, because that's what I said, right? I guess you and your ilk are unable to comprehend basic logic I was using with my post. That's okay though. For now, we'll still work on you until you're able to grasp the concept that the Herd football team has finished ahead of WVU for the last three years. 15 is still greater than 1. That's basic math.

Geez, Cousins , do think Oklahoma wants to play WVU, I'd say not...they beat you on a tip in and by a deceiving score in Morgantown.....tough to beat somebody that has a pulse three times in a single season, that's all that was stated!

Yes, "wanting no part" = "scared to play".

We can comprehend basic logic. We can not comprehend Herd logic.

Haha the stories I could tell about Shockey. . . .

I figured Geaux had my profile ready to send out to the masses. It would be the most boring, uneventful identity revealing to date. Not much to discuss.

Geaux stopped posting here, because Snow Flake kept hitting on him, and wanting to take him out for drinks. He thought it was weird that an old man wanted to hang out with a young man.

six were played since the Atom was harnessed, of those six only 3 could have gone either way!

Not the same premise.....of the 0-12 record, six were played since the Atom was harnessed, of those six only 3 could have gone either way!

WVU played Marshall seven consecutive years from 2006-2012...Only one was close, and the last was a 5 touchdown beatdown. The one before the last, was where you threw in the towel (first time I've ever seen that). Average score 38-15.... Not sure where you get "3 could have gone either way".....

1997, we were ahead and had the ball with 13 minutes to play! The first game in Huntington we were down by 4 points and had the ball a the WVU 40 yard line at the start of the 4th quarter, the last game in Huntington speaks for itself! We could have won all three but SHOULD have won in 97 and 2010.

LOL As Reagan said, there you go again. In 97 we pulled the starters out, but eventually put them back in. I even had a Marshall fan, friend of mine, say after that game..."Yeah, but we made you put your starters back in..." Only one game could have gone either way (1). But, it didn't. Better teams find a way to win. Much better teams do it every time. "Should have won".....typical, but priceless.
