Big 12

I'll like our chances more when we actually play (win against) a good team.....which is still weeks away.

I think we can all agree that WVU's Big 12 schedule doesn't look as terrifying as it did before the season started. Maybe October won't be a train wreck. I hope, I hope, I hope.
First, my alma mater needs to take care of Maryland, and solidly, giving up maybe a field goal or two at most.
There IS a light at the end of the tunnel.

M ighty defense throttled Georgia Southern, 44-0

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

U nilaterally decimate Maryland

N euter Oklahoma

T rample Oklahoma State

A nnihilate Baylor

I ncinerate TCU

N ail Texas Tech

E rectile dysfunction Texas

E viscerate Kansas

R ip open a new one for Iowa State

S kewer Kansas State

This board isn't nearly as busy as it used to be. Is there a reason why?

A FG or 2 at most? Yeah, that'd be great but reality tells me we should win by 14 in this game...with the ne'er-do-well's scoring at least a TD....

Rowe looked capable vs S Fla and his receivers are pretty good, although he really seemed to have a case of the yips in trying to hold onto the ball...key in this one is our pass rush pressuring him hard, then the mistakes will happen and we walk away with a solid W....

This board will light up if WV loses to Maryland. There will be folks calling for Holgs Red Bull. They will not forgive him for having a bad hair day and the pickle jar will be empty! Warez

Locust - I've found a lot less useful information about WVU here since the upgrade, and as a consequence I spend a lot less time here. Sure you can post all sorts of fancy graphics now and I'm sure the features are vastly increased. I don't give a damn about any of that stuff. I just liked a simple place to come read articles and talk WVU football.

Dana has been here five years. Thus far three of those have had results that were no where near what a lot of people expect out of WVU football. The bandwagon fans have left. And the fans who care enough to stay can't bring up anything remotely critical about the team or coach without the Goon Squad pouncing on them. So you're left with a handful of fans who claim we are the best thing since sliced bread (even in the midst of a 4-8 record) and the ones with enough gumption that they can take the constant berating these "True Fans" always throw your way. The information is still on here. What's missing is the tolerance for a conversation about WVU athletics. Because if you aren't blowing smoke up Holg's or Hugg's rear end you're gang mauled!

I bet there are at least 4 to 5 other teams in the conference saying the same thing. We are not on anyone's radar yet, and I prefer to keep it that way.

That's exactly why I love the Big XII. Everyone in the conference (except Kansas) is competitive. So all of the fan bases are engaged in the games. Top to bottom it's the best league in college football. And maybe basketball. Once you get in conference play you can't coast through a weekend and survive.

From what I've seen around the conference, I can definitely see us winning 9 or even 10 this year. I can also see us winning 6. What I don't know yet is how good Howard really is. He's been dead-on accurate and steady, but only against FCS teams. Put some pass pressure on him and let's see what he can do. I also have not been impressed with how this staff adjusts as the season progresses. If Howard really is the real deal, and we find ways of adjusting as we pass through that grueling schedule in October, then way may end up with 10 wins.
