5. West Virginia (6): The Mountaineers got things back on track with a 31-26 triumph over Texas Tech. Four straight losses to start Big 12 play could have lingered into November, but Dana Holgorsen’s team rode Rushel Shell (111 rushing yards) and Wendell Smallwood (163 rushing yards) to its first Big 12 win of the season. The win over Tech means West Virginia looks like the favorite to join the top four in the top half of the final Big 12 standings, with Texas, Kansas, Iowa State and Kansas State its final four games.

Of course ... OSU is now number 1. But after October it's kind of weird to think that we might finish in the top half of the conference .... wonderful, but weird.

I've only watched one Oklahoma State game this year, but I think they'd get killed in the playoff if they made it that far. I hoping they'll lose to OU.

As you point out, it would make 2015 one of the weirdest seasons in memory -- 3 straight wins, 4 straight losses, 5 straight wins. Back-to-back 5-4 seasons in league play would be a happy finish, but it also would leave us to wonder once again about what might have been.
