Big 12 votes against "Satellite Camps"... Sad.

It's actually going to hurt the smaller schools the most. For example, Ohio State has a huge camp, with hundreds of kids in attendance. Only a small few of them would actually get offered a scholarship by OSU. However, MAC coaches would attend, and be able to extend offers to kids that perhaps they wouldn't otherwise be able to see.

Harbaugh has already found another way of pissing them off. He just announced he's going to give the commencement address at Paramus (NJ) Catholic High School. That's a new pipeline for Harbaugh (Jabrill Peppers, Rashan Gary), and there just happens to be a pair of 4 star recruits he's after that attend Paramus. Would love to see Jimmy add a commencement address in Alabama.

This won't affect anything. The top strategy in recruiting the top high school players in the country isn't camps. It is CASH. The top programs do it better than others. The schools in the state of Alabama are the kings of it. The SEC learns from them. Look at Ole Miss. In the B1G, the vest taught tOSU how to recruit, and others caught on.

I always believe SMU & Ron Meyer was just too much ahead of the curve and had their name been A&M, which bought Dickerson the gold Trans A&M, they'd have never gotten the death penalty.

Aside from the service academies, there's probably not a Lilly white program in the country.

They didn't call the old SWC "Sure We Cheat" for nothing. Now WVU is a league with five teams from that old league that have that motto tattooed above their hearts.

If WVU did have an off-campus camp, the main fight among the fanbase would be over having it in Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach.

3XBoy.......................do you really believe the sports world (college included) revolves around the cash transaction? I do...............and you (my friend) are preaching to the choir. By the way, I see where ole Dabo (Clemson) got a raise today. He passed some of the loot along to assistants but Dabo still knocks down over $80,000 a WEEK. What a crime against all of mankind!

I ain't been a boy in many many moons and quite a few presidents of the USA.

The scandals always reveal how it's done, and show it is on every level. Jim Tressel was cheating at Youngstown State and left them on probation at the 1AA level. Why was anyone shocked he cheated at tOSU?

Anytime $$$$$$$ is involved and there's no real legal punishment for cheating (ie No coaches or players at SMU, Miami, USC, or school XYZ ever have did jailtime for giving/taking money or cars or ladies by the hour), what do you think will happen? It's the free market.

I just watch the football games for the gladiator battles, and I watch the scandals to see how far schools will go to cheat. Dynasties are most likely built on CASH.

Everybody cheats. There is too much at stake not too cheat. If the school football team is winning, donations and admissions skyrocket, the local economy wins with increased tourism for games/merchandise sales. So people honestly expect these schools and towns to not give money to a gifted athlete that could change so many things for them just because the kid expects his piece of the pie?

Yeah................I hear that winning comes at a price. By the way.............ole Dabo (Clemson) is making $1000 an hour providing he puts in 80 hours every week. Of course, this money is guaranteed and is deposited into his bank account even if he is on vacation at his beach. I watch sports on TV. I hope I ain't paying nothing towards these outrageous salaries.

Small correction - only 4 B12 teams were in the SWC from the end of WWI to the 1990's

You got me Woody. I guess I was including Oklahoma as they shared the Sure We Cheat ethos.

Lmao when it comes to the b10 and its interest in student athletes. You can bet if they want something it is for their own gain and not the good of the whole whether it's student athletes or a level playing field with the other conferences.
