Is this correct?

If we win vs Texas, we're 2nd.

If both us and TT lose, we're 2nd.

If we lose and TT wins, they're 2nd.

Correct assessment. Fate is in WVU's hands. Win on Saturday and claim 2nd seed. Lose on Saturday and you are at the mercy of TTU vs TCU. Tie breaker in the event of same record is head to head, which TTU and WVU split, followed by best record against the best available team in the Big XII which is Kansas. TTU having that 1-1 record gives them the edge over our 0-2 record.

Does it even matter if you're the 2nd or 3rd seed? Either case, you avoid Kansas until the finals. Looking at the seeding, it's still up in the air as to who would be the 6th or 7th seed, so it's hard to tell today if you would prefer to play in the quarterfinals.

Second gets winner of play in 7/10 game and third gets the 6th. This year, not a big difference in the 7th and 6th which is likely to be a combo of Baylor, KSU, and OU. However, some years it helps if the 10th seed upsets or there is a big drop off like the year WVU got TCU in the first round and won by 20.

KU has only been in Big 12 final 2 times in the last 6 years. WVU has been to 2 straight. KU has appeared in 12 finals since conference began in 1996-17..
