Biden’s America; Teacher and staff layoff happening at the end of the year.

Good grief. I try to stay out of political comments especially when they are on a sport sight, which should be a place to come to get away from such things, but some people apparently have no friends to talk to and choose to air their political views where they have no business being.

Blaming Biden or anyone in the federal government for teacher shortages is beyond the pale.

Teachers are employed by the state and not the federal government. People scream for state’s rights and then blame the federal government when the state doesn’t do what they want. People also complain that the federal government has been handing out money too freely and then complain when they propose to stop doing so because it affects them. You cannot have it both ways.

The federal government has been sending additional funds to the states since Covid to help fund education during hard times and many states have used those funds instead of spending state monies on the schools and now that the federal funds are stopping as intended the states, including this nearly totally republican controlled one, need to find solutions. But of course they’re not very good at that.

Blame politicians in Charleston if you want to hold someone accountable because they are the ones who are not doing their job.

Good grief is right. Try and navigate to the correct board if you want to discuss sports. This is the offtopic discussion board.

I'm afraid not doc. WV has one of the lowest performing primary and secondary students in the country. Teachers may be employees of the state, but the state is a government entity, and all governments in this country, whether local, state, or national, are heavily tied to the Teachers Unions. Both government and unions are socialistic institutions. Hence, poor performance and no accountability. The are lots of topics discussed on this board. This one among the least of our worries. Drink some vodka, smoke some hash. It'll be alright.
