Baylor sex assault scandal far worse than previously disclosed

Whatever... ...like PSU just serve a few years 'worse that the death penalty' and pop back up in the top 25.

How about instead of putting schools on the "death penalty", they start punishing the adults in charge with sanctions? Like they did Tressel.....

If you are a coach or AD or school president and you know ahead of time that covering up things or violating laws or codes that you will NOT be given a job making millions anytime soon, maybe you think twice.....

If you listen to the video the narrative now coming out of Baylor is that the local police never advanced the cases to the public or the university. If true that is a huge story. If not true somebody is lying.

And apparently the title IX coordinator at Baylor was never able to fully collect the kind of information she should have been able to get.

This is looking to be a more complex web of irresponsible conduct than maybe the Sandusky affair, especially if the police were looking the other way and the Title IX coordinator was perpetually stymied.

Baylor won't get that much of a punishment. Nobody in the club ever really gets punished. PSU should be unequivocal proof of that.

Graham Spanier, Tim Curly, and on down or up the line to Paterno all looked the other way to protect the PSU Brand. Paterno was in the midst of 4 losing seasons in a 5 year span when McQueery saw Sandusky soddomising a victim in the shower of the Laesh Building. They all just kept quiet and kept his camps and foundation off campus. Darn near worked too. Well correction when Paterno broke Bowdens record, Sandusky was in Paternos box.

Even worse the NCAA and the B1G all covered for them once it became a national story and kept the death penalty off the table. Espn claimed it wouldn't be fair to the kids (but I bet they are for paying them). And what happened at State College was way worse than what SMU or the U did by paying players.

Baylor may get some bad pub but it's not gonna get anything worse than USC (for the Reggie Bush stuff) which is the worst punishment probably in the last 15 years.

.
Sad that sports has become to some so much more important than basic decency.

and we get 2 yrs + 2yrs for self-reporting recruiting violations (texts and phone calls) and wearing spider pads and practicing too long...oooohhh the humanity!

The NCAA or even the accredidation board for UNC's region can't even bring themselves to punish a known paper mill to keep players eligible. What makes anyone think covering up rape will be done any differently?

The only reason Penn State got any punishment was because of societal pressure. I've yet to see it at that level for Baylor or UNC. Baylor $hould damn near be kicked out of the Big XII indefinitely because of how dirty that program ha$ been, but that'll never happen for reason$ that e$cape me.

Baylor has only been a player on the national level in football for five years. The rest of the schools mentioned have elite football or basketball pedigrees going back decades. Smacking a school like Penn State, North Carolina, or any of the others that skate is tough due to the power they wield within their conferences and with the NCAA. Baylor is another SMU with worse problems.

If the NCAA wants to prove it still swings a big stick, Baylor is the perfect ball to knock out of the park.
