Baseball Travels to Kansas State
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 1, 2015) - The West Virginia University baseball team travels to Kansas State for its third-straight Big 12 series on the road from April 2-4. Thursday's opener will begin at 7:30 p.m., Friday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's finale will be at noon. All times are Eastern.
Thursday and Saturday's games will be televised on FOX College Sports Pacific, while Friday's game will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.
The entire series can be heard on the affiliates of the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG with Jeff Culhane and Ernie Galusky on the call.

"We need to starting winning some games. We've been playing pretty well in the conference, but when you're on the road in the Big 12, if you just win a game on the road you're doing well," coach Randy Mazey said. "We don't want to win one game too often, we need to get down there and start getting some results and get in the middle of the pack as far as the Big 12 is concerned."
West Virginia (16-10 overall, 2-4 Big 12) is riding a seven-game winning streak, most recently winning 4-1 at Pitt on Tuesday evening. As a team, the Mountaineers are hitting .284 with 52 doubles, three triples, 28 home runs and 155 RBIs. The pitching staff holds a 3.48 ERA with 177 strikeouts in 232.2 innings pitched and opponents are batting .260.
Freshman second baseman Kyle Davis paces the WVU offense, batting .361 with eight doubles, two home runs and 15 RBIs, while senior third baseman Justin Fox is hitting .327 with five doubles, one triple, two home runs and 12 RBIs. Senior shortstop Tayor Munden leads the team with seven home runs to go along with a .324 batting average and eight doubles, while sophomore outfielder Shaun Wood has a team-leading 23 RBIs.
Mazey will use a pitching rotation of freshman right-hander Conner Dotson (0-2, 3.33 ERA) on Thursday, junior left-hander Ross Vance (3-2, 3.45 ERA) on Friday and sophomore right-hander Chad Donato (4-3, 1.50 ERA) on Saturday.
Vance picked up the win last Saturday in eight innings, allowing one run on six hits with nine strikeouts and three walks. Donato followed on Sunday with his first career complete-game shutout in which he allowed five hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Donato did not allow more than four batters in any inning.
Kansas State (12-14 overall, 1-5 Big 12) coach Brad Hill will counter with sophomore right-hander Colton Kalmus on Thursday. Kalmus has a 0-2 record with a 4.11 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 30.2 innings. Friday and Saturday's starters have not been announced.
Kansas State is hitting .259 as a team with 34 doubles, nine triples, four home runs and 114 RBIs. Senior infielder Shane Conlon is batting .323 with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 17 RBIs, and junior catcher Tyler Moore is hitting .304 with three doubles, two home runs and 17 RBIs.
