Texas tied it at six....after a freshman comes up with 5 scoreless innings of relief.
they're in the 8th...Ennis (Hampshire) on in relief for WVU..retired two with runner at 1st.
Justin Fox (Magnolia) 0 errors in 114 chances at third....No. 113 should make sportscenter. wow

8th inning -- WVU gets a runner on and steals 2nd...he's going to be out by 5 feet...probably leaves the baseline, but avoids tag and is called safe....UT manager goes out and gets tossed.

Fox is hit by the very next pitch...ump rules he turned into it, calls him back..(Big XII umpires..sheez)

Fox then takes ball 4 6 inches inside..is called back by the umpire for strike two....3-2 he fouls off two pitches....strikes out, but Munden steals third.

Finally they take out this true freshman kid Mayes after 6 2/3...good riddance.
Next guy lines to left.

Top of the order up for Texas against true freshman Ennis, who is only making his third appearance since pitching for Hampshire High last year.

Ennis fans Johnson with two sliders and a fastball.
Ennis hits the next guy on a 3-2 pitch.
Hinojosa up; grounds to Fox, who makes a wide throw, but 1B tags the hitter out...runner to 2nd.
Barrera up; Ennis wild pitches runner to 3rd. Ennis powers a high fastball by him for strike two...crowd rises...2-2 count, slider slashed foul down the RF side...high fastball popped up...Catcher goes into the Texas dugout trying to get it, but can't.
Ennis drills Barrera in the helmet with the next one...and stays down for a second, goes to first.

1st and 3rd, 2 out.
Cantu up. Ennis throws a splitter in the dirt and Cantu chases it. Then Cantu fouls a fastball off. 0-2 count. A slider very high and dropped by the C...no advance. 1-2. Next one runs in and nearly hits him...2-2. Ennis throws a slider in the dirt...Cantu misses it...ball gets away...throw to first just in time..

Johnson gets to a 2-0 count...fouls one off and hits a comebacker. One down
Kyle Davis, another freshman...rips one into the left for a single. WVU's first hit since the fourth.
Cascaddin (another freshman) takes a strike, fouls one to the RF stands, take a ball, hits a fly to RF. Two down.
O"Brien hits one off the end of the bat up the middle...the 2B and SS cross each other...the 2B has to eat it. Infield hit...Davis to 2B.
Next guy, strike one on a slider in the dirt; fouls off breaking ball; takes a fastball very high; takes a back door curve that just misses, 2-2; rips a curve down the line..Boswell dives to save a double and a run, but has no play...infield hit. Bases loaded 2 out.
Huth takes a ball high; checks his swing at a fastball for a strike; fouls off a high fastball; 1-2 count; fouls a fastball into the RF stands; takes a slider in the dirt, 2-2; checks his swing at a high outside fastball, 1B ump says he didn't swing (replay maybe said otherwise); next is very high...Huth walks and drives in a run.

Top of the order and Mundin is up - takes a fastball outside; a visit to the UT pitcher from the dugout...; fastball on the inside corner, 1-1; fastball on the outside corner for a called strike 1-2; slider is grounded to short...out.

WVU gets a run and is three outs from a win. WVU 7, Texas 6 middle of the 10th.

Marlowe leads off; a fastball in there for a strike; inside fastball fouled off; borderline fastball right on the corner called a ball; breaker drops in just a little high 2-2; next one a high bouncer to second...just gets the throw in time. One down.
Boswell up; fastball just low; high with a fastball 2-0; next one way inside for ball 3; and high ...a 4-pitch walk.
Macalla, a third straight lefty (0-5) is up; WVU manager out for a chat, Myers is up in the pen;
Macalla takes a breaking ball on the inside corner for a strike. Fastball is smacked to 2nd...who catches and throws to first for a double play!!!! Ballgame

WVU 7, Texas 6 (10 innings) WVU improves to 8-7, 1-1.

And they play the Eyes of Texas after the baseball games, too...UT players stand at the 1B foul line with hookem horns in the air as it plays....

I think Ennis has helped settle at least part of the question of who to use out of the bullpen. I don't think he's been scored on yet in something like 6 innings now.
