Baseball Hosts Penn State on "Dollar Day"[/B]

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 13, 2015) -[/B] The West Virginia University baseball team will host Penn State on Tuesday, April 14, for a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Monongalia County Ballpark.

The game has been designated as a "Dollar Day" with all tickets and select concessions available for $1 each.

The game will feature a free video stream, courtesy of Coca-Cola, and can be heard throughout the state on affiliates of the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG with Jeff Culhane on the call.

Additionally, fans can listen to the broadcast via the WVU Gameday App on their mobile device, as well as the WVUsports.com/audio.

West Virginia enters the game with a 21-12 record, winning 12 of its last 14 games, including a weekend sweep of Butler in the grand opening of Monongalia County Ballpark.

Freshman second baseman Kyle Davis continues to lead the team with a .367 batting average, while posting 14 doubles, three home runs and 23 RBIs. Senior third baseman Justin Fox is hitting .321 with nine doubles, one triple, three home runs and 16 RBIs, while senior shortstop Taylor Munden leads the team with eight home runs to go along with a .296 batting average and nine doubles.

Junior outfielder KC Huth, who was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, went 9-for-13 in the Butler series with four runs, two doubles, one home run and six RBIs.

Freshman right-hander Shane Ennis (2-0) will get the nod for West Virginia. Ennis has a 3.31 ERA in nine appearances with three starts. He has struck out eight in 16.1 innings and opponents are hitting .211.

As a team, WVU is batting a Big-12 leading .288 with 113 extra-base hits and 196 runs driven in. The pitching staff has a 3.57 ERA in 297.2 innings with 225 strikeouts.

Penn State enters the game with a 10-20 record, dropping two-of-three at home last week to Michigan. The Nittany Lions have lost six of their last eight games.

Senior outfielder Aaron Novak leads Penn State offensively with a .364 batting average, six doubles, four homers and 21 RBIs. Sophomore infielder Jim Haley is hitting .277 with four doubles, three triples and 16 RBIs, while junior outfielder Greg Guers has a team-leading 10 doubles and 23 RBIs, and is tied for the team lead with four homers.

The Nittany Lions are hitting .263 as a team with 55 doubles, seven triples, nine home runs and 142 RBIs. The pitching staff holds a 4.97 ERA with 186 strikeouts in 262.1 innings.
