#2, #3 & #4 lost on the same day for the first time in 31 years!

#2 Clemson lost, 43-42, to 6-4 Pitt.

#3 Michigan lost to 5-4 Iowa, 14-13.

#4 Washington lost, 26-13, to 6-3 Southern Cal.

#8 Texas A&M lost to 4-5 Mississippi, 29-28. And is 7-3!

#9 Auburn lost, 13-7, to 6-4 Georgia.

#14 Virginia Tech lost, 30-20, to Georgia Tech.

#17 North Carolina lost, 28-27, to 4-6 Duke.

AND

#16 West Virginia won, 24-20, over 5-5 Texas.

If 6 teams above WVU lose, shouldn’t that move the Mountaineers up in the College Football Playoff Committee’s rankings next week?

At the very least, there will be a shakeup in the rankings below #1 Alabama, THE ONLY UNBEATEN team with 3 weeks still to go. I suspect Ohio State will replace Michigan in the top 4.

Should I remind you again that average number of unbeaten teams over the past 10 years is ONE?

We will move up every week we win, not sure if it's enough to get to #4 but a lot of things that needed to happen happened tonight.

CFP this week will probably be

1. Bama
2. OSU
3. Louisville
4. Michigan

On the cusp some combo of

Clemson
Washington
PSU
Wisconsin
WVU

If OSU beats Michigan and PSU wins out the B1G championship game could be meaningless, but the winner could go to the final 4 along with OSU.
Keep winning baby. Tighten those screws.

Washington loses at home to a USC team that got jailraped by Alabama, pummeled by Stanford, and close loss to Utah, and we lost on the road to an OSU team that had lost to Baylor and Central Michigan. I feel like our loss was better than Washington's.

OU probably puts this talk to bed next Saturday, though. We just can't seem to pull it off even when we should (damn you 2012 and your DeForest D!).
