Great seeing the Mountaineers play two good teams and get two wins. Jones, Cline and Allen were very impressive for Richmond. Cline was surprisingly physical. Jones was very tough. Allen has a great overall game. I can see them getting nice wins this season.

Lots of great athletes on the SDSU team. Very long, great jumpers, but the WVU press was a shock for most of them. They'll be much improved by the end of the season.

I can't really quantify it, but WVU looks much closer to a finished product than they did last year. If Esa gets comfortable and confident, we''ll be very tough in March.

The NCAA officiating changes have destroyed all game flow.

Las Vegas seems to get worse every time I visit. Every place stinks from cigarette smoke, prices are high for food and alcohol. Traffic was terrible. The one exception was lodging. We got a great rate on Priceline for Trump's hotel, and it was really nice and a great value. The room was HHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE!!!

Cal came to Vegas ranked and lost both games…, sucks for them. At least in Hoops (vs football), the rankings get worked out by the end of the season. The Mountaineers played well, really rattled teams when they were trying to put the ball in play under the basket. However, I did not like the way the little SDSU freshman guard Hemsley could drive right through our entire defense to the hoop and score . That could be problematic in future games.

SDSU game plan was to make Devin as ineffective as possible. They definitely slowed him down, but it's nice we were able to score in other ways. This team seems to have great chemistry. If each player can continue to improve within Huggs system, they will have the chance to go deep come March.

Sorry out city was not as pleasant for you, but if you hang on the Strip or Downtown, that's what you usually get. Just like the deal you found at Trump, there are definitely ways to bypass the traffic and avoid the smoke. As far as the food and alcohol, if you want a decent atmosphere, you will pay for it.

Vegas is going the way of AC.

.....a worse experience each and every time I visit.

----------

I will say that Vegas still gives decent comps compared to most other casinos in the country.

With $10 billion in construction, 150,000 new jobs and 28 new schools in the next 3 years, Vegas is not going the way of AC. Vegas was hit hardest economically starting in 2008, but from 1980 until 2007, there was never a downturn, except for a 2 week standstill after 9-11-2001. Now we were the last to recover, but Vegas is back on it's feet.

If you're experiencing a worse visit each and every time you visit, you just don't know the right people. Vegas is still "old school" in the sense it's who you know and who's really got the "juice," regardless of what anyone says on the internet to the contrary. There are a lot of WV natives and WVU grads in Vegas. After you send your contribution to the Mountaineer Athletic Club, and before you travel to Vegas next time, you might want to follow up with a phone call to the MAC and ask who facilitates the WVU Athletic teams when they travel to Vegas. It might turn out differently for you next time.

You shouldn't need to 'know people' for a nice visit and I don't give two shits about school construction.....

....lol.

When this team starts getting consistent production from the SF position (Ahmad, Adrian, Paige).....

It is going to get scary good.

Recommendations for lodging, dining, entertainment in Vegas?

Right now, my wife and I think NYC is a better value.

Paige averaging over 9 points a game and shooting over 60% from the floor off the bench is not consistent? Just saying.

Yes.......... but he is but one of three guys comprising the court time at the position.

See how I named all three? If Paige was playing 30 minutes a game there, I wouldn't have posted

But then again, I said if we get consistent production.... Paige's scoring has been appreciated greatly so far, but not exactly consistent.

Combined, if WVU could get 25 points a game from the SF, we'd be a Title Contender. 10 from Paige, 10 from Ahmad, 5 from Adrian.....

So those three are averaging 20.4 points per game or 23% of the teams overall scoring. The only position that is out playing the 3 is the centers at over 25 points per game. Consistency can be measured in many ways but shooting 60% from the field and just under 50% from three is a clear definition of consistency. I certainly think that Esa scoring will increase as he gets more comfortable in the system but he sure is contributing in other ways as witnessed by him dishing out over 3 assist a game. If any position is holding us back, it is the point but I expect improve play as the season progresses.
