Skyler Howard threw for 260 yards, 3 TDs and NO interceptions.

Justin Crawford rushed for 129 yards, Kennedy McKoy for 127, WVU total was 341 (7.3 PER CARRY!).

Daikiel Shorts had 104 yards and 1 TD as a receiver. Shelton Gibson had 102 and 2 TDs. WVU total was 264 and 3 TDs.

Mountaineers’ total yardage was 605 yards! I know, it was Kansas. But that looks good even against The Little Sisters of the Poor.

Skyler and Ka’Raun White fumbled the ball away. As we know from the Oklahoma State game, that can bite you in the ass against good or excellent teams.

Defense had NO sacks and 1 QB hurry… against Kansas. That has to improve against Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor. Give the defense credit, though, for 2 interceptions, both by Rasul Douglas.

Overall, WVU dominated completely as it should have as a 34.5-point favorite. And the dominance was more than a cursory look at the 27-point victory margin would indicate. Again, Dana uses backups who gave up points but gained valuable experience in case a starter goes down.

On to Austin and the most hot-and-cold team in the Big 12, Texas.

Beat Notre Dame and losing to Cal and Kansas State doesn’t seem impressive today, but Baylor and Texas Tech (2 other Jekyll and Hyde teams) made the Longhorns look better. Charlie Strong is working hard to keep his job. WVU need not help him do that

Those guys can be awesome or awful. We’ll see which “a” they are against my alma mater.
