Ah, another Pre-season poll of almost every SEC team ranked. Helps a lot to get people thinking the SEC is the most dominate conference when you have almost entire league start out ranked, which then keeps majority of them ranked entire season and perceives them as so dominate. Surprised Kentucky isn't ranked.

Glad Ohio State kicked Bama's ass last year.

Whew. Lotta faith in a lot of teams that experienced a lot of losing. I will say I believe OU will have a bounce back year & surprise people.

WV's perception would be so much higher had we won the bowl, which absolutely was a winnable game.

Moving forward, I think by & large the national perception is simply no Trickett no White no way.

Overrated
3 Alabama - disregards the loss of WR Cooper, RB Yeldon & QB Sims. Tide was extremely reliant on Cooper.
7 Oregon - Mariota, Heisman winner, is gone. QB means everything at Oregon. Can't assume plug-n-play theory.
10 Fla State - same as Oregon. Winston bailed them out so many times & pulled off razor close wins.
29 VPI - still riding the wave of hype from upsetting tOSU. disregards 6 losses that occurred later.

Guess many AP voters were as impressed as I was by VT barnburners like that 6-3 loss in 2 OT at Wake Forest that was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation. Definitely my favorite game of 2014.

Preseason Polls are so bullshit. Tenn and Arkansas ranked? LSU ranked that high? Notre Dame ranked that high?

I believe that most pre-season polls are nothing more than a reflection of the general publics respect for schools based on past performances of 1-2 years more then anything else. It would be interesting to look at the past 2 years pre-season polls and then the end of season poll to compare if there is any actual valve to a pre-season poll. I would rather wait until after game 4.

Paint got ran up a paw-paw tree by a rampant billy goat. He says he's not coming down until that goat is roasted and ate. I can't say that I blame him, I wouldn't want a horny billy goat after me.

I saw Paint and the goat together not more than a week ago. Paint was visiting down in the Jolo and Cucumber area at the time. Paint and the goat apparently have things worked out. But, then again..............a good goat will do that! Paint claims he was just trying to get the goat's head out of the fence line. Now, back to the question at hand. How ..........HOW in the hail could the sports gods place any team again of WV? Ain't ole Warez good looking?
