making no effort to improve. Dumped Winker just to make Seattle eat Saurez's absurd salary which was of our own doing. Made no effort to even talk to Castallonses about re-signing. Have an overpaid 3rd baseman who must live at the Golden Coral who's so fat he can't bend down to field tailor made double play balls. Run our a veteran utility player at SS and try to pass him off as a regular every SS who ran us out of an inning yesterday. Our big Free agent signing was a washout from San Diego (Pham) who was late to Spring training because he was healing from being knifed in a Titty bar, not surprising he is hitless on the young season. To top it all off our Owners son mouths off that if we (fans) don't like it we can lump it and root for somebody else because we don't understand the economics of the game.

I don't change favorite teams, ever, Tony. Yes, the Reds suck, and their President is an entitled spoiled brat, but we're stuck with him. It's not surprising that a small-market team that had a payroll in the dead center of MLB last season, only to come up short, and lost a lot of revenue because of COVID, decided to reduce its payroll in 2022. They'd probably be better off in the long run, if they could trade Votto's big contract soon, too. Pham used to crush the Reds, but there's a reason that he was available for minimal cash. Moustakas is a soft fat slob, who has never lived up to his contract. Suarez didn't make as much as you think, and should have been kept in Cincy for his consistent longball power, if for no other reason. Winker is a fine hitter, but a pinhead made of glass. The Reds screwed themselves by including a player option in Castellanos' contract, which worked out perfectly for Nick, who cashed in after having had a career year in the litter box known as GABP. The only thing to look forward to at this point is the play of the promising youngsters, such as Greene and Lodolo.

i thought after last year there might be hope....but they haven't been decent since the old lefthander was rounding third and heading for home.....of course if your team is in ahia and has red in it's colors that means automatic suckage

Yeah, we've got some kids with promise the two young pitchers you mentioned plus India ,Stevenson and Stenzel. But the mistakes we've made...who in the world thought Shogo was worth that kind of money, Moose is a fat joke, Suarez signs a big contract and suddenly he hits below the Mendoza line. You're correct Votto's big contact is killing us we're stuck with that mistake, nobody will take him off our hands at that salary and being 38 year old. But Castellani's comments really chaffed me.

I wish Marty and Joe still did the radio calls...I guarentee they'd rip the front office instead of kissing ass like our current announcers do!

There is some good youg talent. A kid at SS who should take over when he gets healthy. If Shogo and the Punisher could hit for average the reds would be average

I give the Reds some credit for realizing that Shogo was a huge mistake and they cut him loose after Spring training. Berrio is a good looking talent as you mentioned but the Reds will roll Farmer a career utility player out there at SS if I know them. Maybe move Berrio to 3rd if they can't find a pair pants to fit Moose in a couple of months!

Won't matter when the bullpen regularly gives up 6 run innings.

Castellini needs to sell to someone who wants more than having pro franchise owner on their profile. They need to sell to an outfit like the Fenway Sports Group.

The Reds have a strange ownership group and maybe that is part of the problem. Castellini is the majority owner but it's unclear just how much of the shares he owns. But your point is valid, IMHO. We need an owner who is willing to make good baseball investments in players that can actually play !

The Reds have done well evaluating players and developing players but they are unwilling to make the financial commitment to get or keep talent that isn't cheap. Thus they have relegated themselves to being an MLB farm team.

They have made a ton of mistakes and have been plagued by some bad luck as well. Who in the world thought Shogo could hit MLB pitching? The Moose signing is joke but local Cincy eatery's are thrilled to have him. Suarez contract was a mistake in retrospect but I at least understood like they felt he was worthwhile when the gave him a new deal, he as off hitting .250 with 40 plus HR's. We give him the big money and he hits .202 the next year and backs it up with a .198 last year. He did hit some Homers in our bandbox but doubtful he'll hot 20 in Seattle. Bailey and Mesarocco was plagued with illness and injury after we gave them the big money. The Pham signing will turn out to be a joke as well. But we got some young players that show promise, if we don't give them away like we did Winker.

Drafted Winker. Developed Winker. Sold him for pitching hopefuls.

I doubt Seattle is upset.
