Another police shooting.....in Minnesota

I didn't realize that. It sounds like an accidental discharge. Common practice for cops to pull up and draw their pistol but keep it out of site just under the window seal pointed at a suspect. If you've seen the movie "End of Watch", when they pull up to talk to one of the black gang members, you can see that exact move.Do you realize that the Australian woman was shot THROUGH THE DOOR of the police car ?
That means the idiot HAD HIS GUN DRAWN (with the safety off) INSIDE THE CAR...
the dumbass WILL be going to jail...

Also, if he was using a Glock, don't know if that's the case, it doesn't have a safety in the traditional sense. My Springfield XD certainly doesn't. It has two safeties, neither are a "switch". You have trigger safety and the pistol grip safety, where both have to be depressed, effectively, if you are holding it, one of them is already depressed. Then, when pulling the trigger, you end up through the process of trigger pull releasing the other safety. Unless they have changed the Glock, it only has one safety on the trigger. Berettas have the traditional switch which can be activated by flipping it with your thumb.
It sounds like this guy didn't abide by rule #3. "Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire".
Just to recap:
1. Treat every weapon as if were loaded
2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
3. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.
4. Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire (already explained the safety mechanisms)
